We are happy to give information, set up trips and even provide transfers into town, to and from the railway station or to the local golf courses. We speak English and French. The historic town of Trie-Chateau once formed the frontier between France and the English occupied area. The fortifications are still evident in the Medieval bridge right next to the house and in the chateau, church and other village buildings. The village has a bakery with a small grocery section, an excellent pizzeria, a post office and a GP surgery. A large hypermarket with petrol station and pharmacy is less than 1km away, accessible on foot and provides all amenities. Gisors with its impressive, large church and motte and bailey castle is just 2km away and provides restaurants and substantial shopping. In addition, there are several famous golf courses and well-known fishing spots within easy reach as well as fabulous trips to the Normandy historic sites and beautiful coast. We are also right on the Vexin Circuit and part of "la voie verte" or "greenway" as well as the London to Paris cycle route. Trie-Chateau station, on the direct line from Paris St Lazare to Gisors is 7 mins away on foot or 1 min by car. There are regular daily trains into Paris taking about 1 hour 15 mins. Note that the last train runs at about 20h30 from Paris. The train, local buses and taxies ensure connection with Gisors town. There is on site parking for those who wish to bring their car, which is recommended for those who wish to explore the wider countryside but not essential to enjoy a quiet stay here. Beauvais airport is about 40km and Charles de Gaulle about 75km. Dieppe is 105km away and the crossing goes to Newhaven. A welcome pack will provide information about local amenities and attractions, as well as those further afield. Secure bike storage for guests in a lockable garage. There is a new sports centre with covered swimming pool and sauna within the village (walking distance) if a dip in the river is not your style!
