BirdSong Cottage at Town and Country is a self-contained, self-catering Guest cottage situated in the town of Caledon, but the atmosphere here is definitely Country! PLEASE NOTE: OUR RATES ARE PER PERSON BirdSong Cottage consists of 2 bedrooms that can sleep up to 4 persons - (main bedroom with a double bed and second bedroom with 2 single beds - both rooms have air-conditioning); a bathroom with a shower; an open-plan living area with large, flat-screen TV with full DSTV and free Wi-Fi; a fully equipped kitchen; and a covered veranda that has a braai area and has lovely views of the garden. There is also access to the swimming pool in the garden. Off-street parking is also available for vehicles. The cottage is rented out as a whole unit, regardless of the number of guests - so whether you book it for a single person or a group of 4, the whole apartment is reserved for their sole use for the duration of their stay. We have also put measures in place to deal with any water shortages and the possibility of power failures due to the dreaded Eskom "load-shedding". Our property has water storage tanks totalling 32 500 Litres and a back-up generator capable of supplying power to the whole property. The cottage is also equipped with a gas stove, a stove-top kettle and an emergency LED lantern for use in case of power failures. Access to swimming pool and large garden which functions as a sanctuary for a variety of rescued animals. We have sheep, a Potbelly pig, chickens, tortoises, dogs & cats, as well as an abundance of bird life. Please note that guests have a private area of the garden reserved for their use. The animals do not have access to this area or to the living space, and will therefor not bother guests, who may choose if and when they wish to interact with the animals. Your host lives in the main house on the property and will be on hand to welcome and assist you. We are situated on the edge of town, with all the atmosphere of the country, yet only 5 minutes from the Victoria Mall, the Caledon Casino and Hot Springs, and 20 minutes from the sea in Hermanus. Our property is situated about 1km from the Caledon Botanical Gardens and the Caledon Casino, Hot Springs and Spa, and is within walking distance of the town centre. The Victoria Mall is also approximately 1 km away. We are also less than 5km from the popular wedding venues, Die Woud and The One Heaven and Earth. We offer secure off-street parking to our guests. We are within walking distance of the town centre. Caledon offers 24 hour taxi services to transport guests.
