This tiny house located within 2-acre private woodland freely accessible, is the perfect location to unplug and enjoy nature - with Druridge Bay and Cresswell Beach less than 20 minutes away! At the heart of Northumberland, this is a great location to explore the coastline, the ancient castles and hike in the National Parks! The Longhirst Golf Course is also a 10-minute walk away! There is no wifi nor TV to encourage people to disconnect (and reconnect !) and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. THE CABIN This quaint and cosy cabin has an open plan layout encompassing a kitchenette, a sitting and dining area (with a stove, to add to the cosiness!) and a sleeping area with the sofa easily turning into a spacious double bed. The bunk beds are separated from the main living space by a wall for more privacy. We arrived way too many times in an AirBnb realising that the cooking essentials were not there! That is why we provide cookware, utensils, oil, salt and pepper as well as washing-up liquid and tea towels in the kitchen area. And if you need anything, please let us know :) The bathroom is spacious with a large shower, sink and toilet. We provide a large towel for each guest as well as a couple of hand towels, together with shampoo and shower gel. A travel cot and high chair are also available on demand. THE WOODLAND While the woodland is suitable for kids (den building, hide and seek, fruit picking), it is a mature wood therefore parents must keep their children supervised at all time. Please note that the woodland is shared with the main house. However the barbecue, lawn and patio in front of the cabin are private to the cabin. The access to the South Lodge property is shared with the host, via the gated entrance. The cabin is at the back of the main residence and comes with exclusive use of the garden area and patio at the front of the cabin. Longhirst is a cute little hamlet surrounded by fields and woodland that can be accessed via public footpaths. The town of Morpeth is less than a 10-minute drive away and has plenty of shopping options. The well regarded Longhirst Golf Club is only a 10-minute walk away, and Cresswel Beach / Druridge Bay are less than 15 minutes away. There are several beautiful beach walks close by: Cresswell Beach to North Druridge Bay, Warkworth-Alnmouth-Foxton (quite a long one!), Bamburgh or Lindisfarne Castle are the main ones. Otherwise we highly recommend Cragside Park in Rothbury which is more inland with beautiful views on the Cheviots on a nice day and beautiful hikes around too. From Alnwick's Castle, Hadrian's Wall walks, Newcastle & Tynemouth, or the Cheviots Hills, there is honestly plenty to see less than an hour away! Food-wise, Black & Grey Pub and Nadon Thai in Morpeth are our favourites. We do recommend the Potted Lobster restaurant in Bamburgh and the Running Fox in Felton for its amazing pies! South Lodge is located right before Longhirst Hall when coming from Morpeth so the property will be on your left just before the Longhirst Hall sign. If you are coming from Longhirst, the property will be on your right just after the Longhirst Hall sign. We ask that the main gate remains closed for additional safety.
