Hartcliffe Retreat on a free range chicken farm

(Dogs are welcome) Bursting with charm and character Hartcliffe Retreat provides the perfect getaway for families, friends and couples (and pets) looking for an indulgent and idyllic break. Set on the outskirts of Penistone, adjacent to the owner’s home and on a working free range chicken farm, this retreat with a gated parking area is cosy, homely and perfect for spending some time away. Dining and Relaxing Area: A large and light dining and relaxing room. There is a full sized 8 seater dining table. A cosy seating area with leather sofa, sofa-armchair and rocker chair are placed for you to soak up the rural views and watch stunning sunsets through full length glass windows. There's a TV and various books and games to help you relax. Traditional Country Kitchen: With plenty of character and charm, the spacious country kitchen provides the perfect place to prepare your meals. Incorporating a massive range cooker with 2 ovens, a full sized fridge/freezer, a microwave, ample cookware, crockery / utensils and a dishwasher to ease the tidying up after mealtimes. The kitchen window overlooks the garden, with a view of a bird feeder for spotting the many rural birds including Woodpeckers and Jays. The Lounge: A good sized area with 2 sofas and bean bags. There are views either side through full glass windows on one side and patio doors on the other leading to the patio area and garden. Here there is also a large TV and a log burning fire. Peaceful Slumber: Off the hall is a good sized bedroom with a set of bunk beds, a single trundle bed and a double wardrobe. This bedroom overlooks the garden. Head up the stained wood staircase to a large and light loft bedroom with a comfy double bed and single bed. There's also room for the single trundle bed and/or a cot. Enter the large sized en-suite and enjoy a shower in the good sized walk-in shower before cosying down for the evening. Head down another stained wood staircase to a utility room with washing machine, iron and ironing board, and drying rack. From here a small corridor takes you to a large double bedroom which has room for a cot. This bedroom also enjoys an ample en-suite with walk-in shower and a dressing area with a triple wardrobe with drawers and a separate large set of drawers. All quality bedding and towels are provided. This is a full house on three floors. I use a key safe for self check so I don't always meet my guests but I only live next door so I am usually available and more than happy to answer any questions during your stay. Check-in and check-out times can be varied upon request. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, Hartcliffe Retreat is within easy reach of the Trans Pennine Trail, ideal for walkers, cyclists (cycles are available to hire in the area) and ramblers. Or take a more leisurely stroll along the nearby country roads, head for the higher ground and take in the stunning views of moors and reservoirs. The Trans Pennine Trail can be accessed in a couple of places within the close-by picturesque village of Penistone. Only 5 minutes drive away, here you can get your shopping, enjoy the local shops or have a relaxing coffee in one of the cafes. There is a selection of pubs and restaurants in the area. Penistone also has it's own historic cinema and railway station. There is no public transport, we are very much in the countryside; yet only a short drive into Penistone or Stocksbridge for Fox Valley Retail park. We provide 2 high chairs and 2 cots (one a travel cot).
