Stylish Barn Retreat in Rural Farm Location
The Lodge Barn Annexe is a brick barn which was converted to a stylish, contemporary and cosy barn conversion whilst still keeping that country charm. The polished concrete and bi-folding doors in combination with the traditional oak beams make it into an outstanding property. It is situated outside of a small Northamptonshire village called Hardwick and is surrounded by farmer’s fields and tranquil country side. It offers an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with freestanding log burner. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, wine cooler, gas hob, oven & combi-microwave and a dishwasher. The Kitchen island seats 2 people and there is a separate dining table that can also be used as work space. Guests have access to Freeview smart TV and wifi dongle however general phone reception is not strong in the area. There is one bedroom with a King size bed, it has bi-fold doors opening onto the south facing patio. A double bed can be found in the loft space which is accessible by a ladder in the utility room. The ladder is not suitable for young children or elderly. Clean and fresh linen and towels are provided. The bathroom has a stone bathtub and a separate polished concrete wet room with waterfall shower head, hand basin and toilet. There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer and some storage space. The bi-folding doors open up onto a south facing patio which is perfect to enjoy a coffee in the morning or have a BBQ. Gas BBQ is available for your use. A neighbouring building is currently still unfinished and construction may cause minor noise during working hours. Off road parking, car required to get around as location is rural and not within walking distance of public transport. Without needing to use your car, there are many stunning walks and cycle rides on your doorstep, which have a diverse selection of wildlife and birds and are perfect for dog lovers like us. Just a short drive away is Beckworth Emporium, a popluar garden centre with food hall specialising in local produce and a newly refurbished conservatory dining area. Our favourite pub The Griffins Head is a 5 min drive away in the small village of Mears Ashby. Sywell Aerodrome is just around the corner and there are regular displays happening right above our property. Sywell Aerodrome played a key role during the Second World War and it's rich aviation history is still evident around the Aerodrome and displayed within the Sywell Aviation Museum which open to the general public. Rushden Lakes an outdoor shopping and leisure complex with cinema and many different shops, restaurants and other fun activities is a 15 min drive away. Other popular places to visit are Castle Ashby, Pitsford Reservoir, Sywell Country Park, Santa Pod Racing and Silverstone.
