The Garden Guest House is a substantial Victorian property located in the very centre of Rhodes village. It is clean and comfortable. Great accommodation, better standard than your usual bunkhouse or backpackers but not a deluxe bed and breakfast. Ideal for large groups looking for a fun break or for sharing families wanting lots of space. We have witnessed the house to be haunted by a friendly ghost. Can sleep up to 14 comfortably, single room bookings may have to share common areas. Ideal for ski parties, walking groups, running clubs, fishing groups If you are a couple or family you shall have your own room, most are en-suite. we shall pick the most appropriate for your party size. Other couples or families may stay at the same time when the kitchen, lounge diner and stoep will become common areas. We shall provide all guests with a a contact number of the managing agent who manages the property and lives in the village for any queries or problems. Rhodes is a one in a million place. A small whitewashed gathering of colonial properties and Victoriana signposting on un-tarmaced roads studded with mature willows and Scotts Pines and surrounded by green rolling mountains. People come for the mountain air, to sit and soak up the peace and quiet, count the stars, walk, fish, swim, horse ride or use it as a launching ground for Tiffindell Ski resort for which there is a daily shuttle bus in the season. Rhodes is remote. It is nearly 40 kms of dirt road from Barkley East and 60 kms from Maclear. Although there are three pubs that serve food currently no shops for basics or petrol in the village so fill up and bring your supplies with you. Good walking starts right from the village and there is a shuttle bus to Tiffindell ski resort in the ski season. The Bell river runs right past the village meaning great shallow water holes to wallow in within walking distance. Rhodes is a remote village, it's attractions are the unmade roads and no street lighting giving a rustic 'old time' feel and starlit nights. It is high in the mountains so can be chilly at night. Although there are three pubs that serve food there is no shop or petrol station in the village so fill up and bring provisions.
