The Garden Room at The Old Ale House

The Garden Room is situated in our peaceful garden near the beautiful village of Dedham on the Essex / Suffolk borders. The room is newly built with a very comfortable king-size bed, a fabulous shower and a private patio. Enjoy local walks including the Essex Way, the famous 'Constable Country' walk to Flatford Mill or head along the estuary to Manningtree and beyond. There's lots of great food to be enjoyed nearby including Milsoms and Le Talbooth, The Sun Inn and Lucca Enotecca. The room is equipped with a small fridge and tea and coffee-making facilities (Nespresso). A self-service breakfast is provided - a toaster, a selection of breads, cereals, condiments, fruits, yogurts and juice. You are welcome to have takeaway food in the room, plates and crockery are provided. Access to a larger fridge and microwave can be provided if needed. The garden is free to enjoy, please feel free to go and say hello to the hens or see the fish in the pond. My family and I live in the main house and someone is usually around to help you settle in and with any questions you may have. If you need anything during your stay, please do knock, we'd rather you asked if there's something you need. Being situated outside of the village gives you access to many beautiful but much quieter walking routes than those found in Dedham itself, we can recommend many hidden paths. A car is ideal in this area to make the most of your surroundings. You can walk to the village (Dedham) in around half an hour. We can suggest routes to suit. There are some buses into town (Colchester) everyday. Manningtree is a 10 minute drive and has a mainline station. If you're in to cycling do bring your bikes, we can safely house them and suggest many beautiful routes in the area.
