The Shippen, Old Low Moor Farm near Thirsk
Completed in July 2018, the Shippen is a two bedroom, two bathroom, luxury barn conversion with an open plan living/ dining/ kitchen. The Shippen is single storey and is wheelchair friendly. It is set in beautiful countryside on the edge of the North York Moors National Park but with easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and the Yorkshire coast. The fully fitted kitchen has an integrated fridge/ freezer, oven, separate microwave, induction hob and dishwasher. The super king bed in bedroom 1 can be split into two singles if required and there is level access to the property, wide doorways, a large walk in shower and plenty of room to manoeuvre a wheelchair, if required. Both bedrooms have en suites. The lounge areas has a smart TV with DVD and has a fireplace with a wood burning stove. The dining area has a table with six chairs. Outside there is a patio area. Guests can use the fishing lake, tennis court and children's play area with swings, see saw, slide and trampoline, free of charge. We can provide fishing gear and tennis racquets, if required. There are also stables on site and guests may bring their own horses by prior arrangement with the owners and at extra cost. We live on site and are available in case of problems, we are also happy to recommend places of interest, restaurants etc. Although set in open countryside, The Shippen is only 5 miles from Thirsk and Northallerton with their shops restaurants and cafes. There is also a friendly local pub in the village of Knayton about 1/2 mile away which serves excellent home cooked food Wednesday to Sunday inclusive, it is advisable to book in advance. A car is a necessity but many guests bring their own bikes as we are close to a number of national cycling routes and we can provide secure locked storage for bikes and bike washing facilities The Shippen is located in open countryside but is only approximately 4 miles from Thirsk and Northallerton where there are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants. It is located on the edge of the North York Moors but still has easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire coast. There is a very friendly pub in the village about half a mile away which serves excellent food (Wednesdays to Sundays inclusive but it is advisable to book beforehand) and there are numerous other good places to eat nearby.
