Wonderful stay in picturesque Niehove

Guesthouse "Op de Wierde" is located on the first floor of our front house, has its own entrance and a beautiful view of the medieval church of Niehove. It is a spacious attic studio with a sleeping and sitting area and its own bathroom. There are coffee and tea facilities. Niehove was named "most beautiful village in the Netherlands" in 2019, situated on a mound between the bustling city of Groningen (18 km) and the Lauwersmeer National Park and the Wadden Sea in an old cultural landscape. The guesthouse has been completely renovated and comfortably furnished. Two excellent beds, which are usually placed against each other and can also be made up as one bed. There is a simple kitchen with a fridge and coffee and tea making facilities. There are no cooking facilities. The prices quoted are excluding breakfast. If you wish we can serve you a splendid breakfast with biological products of the country for € 9,00 per person per night. Please let us know if you like our breakfast service. The studio has its own access through the front door and its own staircase. We use the side entrance in the back house ourselves. Point of attention: the stairs to the guesthouse are studio ars somewhat narrow and steep. No problem for most guests. We are happy to carry your luggage upstairs. You have your own pravicy, but we are happy to advise you about the environment, etc. Niehove is located in the middle of the Middag-Humsterland, a former Wadden island with the oldest cultural landscape in the Netherlands. It is characterized by the many mounds, where people used to retreat to high water. The region has many picturesque villages, medieval churches, old watercourses and winding dyke roads. And above all: space and tranquility, far from the metropolitan hectic. From Niehove it is also possible to make a day trip to Wadden Islands such as Ameland, Schiermonnikoog or Borkum (D). The bustling city of Groningen is on a distance of 18 km (an hour by bike or 20 minutes by car). Niehove is not accessible by public transport. The nearest railway station is in Zuidhorn or Grijpskerk Note: the price is excluding breakfast.
