Quinta da Alvarinheira, Casa do Ganhão

The Casa do Ganhão is one of four residences surrounding the charming patio of our Quinta da Alvarinheira. It is a sweet bucolic setting surrounded by pastures and trails over the gentle countryside. It is a perfect place for short or long term stays for families or friends seeking a quiet and healthy country retreat that maintains strict COVID protocols. The Casa itself has two identical rooms with a queen bed and bunk bed in each, offering capacity for 4. There are two independent bathrooms and shower stalls for groups to maintain separate hygiene. The large main room is also the kitchen and dining area. The house is air-conditioned to control temperatures during the summer and winter. Guests have full access to the Quinta's facilities, which include a pool, garden and outdoor areas. There is a small shop of artisan foods at the quinta with products made on site. Susana and her staff live at the Quinta, and can adjust their interactions to the guests' request. The Casa Ganhao functions as a completely self-catered house. Quinta da Alvarinheira is at the very edge of the small village of Oledo, itself some 8km from Idanha-a-Nova where the closest markets are. There are no immediate neighbors. A car is almost completely essential, although there is a bus traveling between Idanha-a-Nova and Castelo Branco (where there is a train station) about 5 times daily.
