A Bird's Eye View Farm Stay

A spacious yet cosy self catering, farm style, home overlooking the Ruigtevlei, near Sedgefield. The property offers an ideal escape to the countryside where family and friends can come together on this beautiful location nestled on a hilltop overlooking lakes and mountains. This is a superb base from which to explore our beautiful Garden Route region and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us. The FARM STYLE HOME offers lovely old charm, gorgeous views and is surrounded by citrus orchard's. Laze in hammocks,  watch the ebbing tide's over the lake or find a book and choose one of many a nook and relax at this beautifully restored farmhouse offering cosy accommodation for up to 10 guests. Guest's are accommodated in 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. All bedrooms are completely private from one another and can be accessed privately from outside if required. This makes it absolutely ideal for a group traveling together that wish to have some independence in their coming’s and going’s. 2 bedrooms are large, en-suite, bedrooms with beautiful, solid wood, four poster, king size beds (the Fish Eagle and Turaco bedrooms). The Fish Eagle bedroom is a private suite and absolutely ideal for a couple. This bedroom offers en-suite facilities with a walk-through closet which leads into the bathroom offering a large corner bath and shower over bath. The Turaco bedroom is a family room that offers a King size bed as well as 2 single beds. This bedroom also offers an en-suite bathroom with a bath and separate walk-in shower. The Sunbird bedroom is the third bedroom in the home and is sunny and bright. It is a family room offering a double bed and 2 single beds. The sunbird room has access to private bathroom facilities offering a shower and separate toilet. The home offers a well equipped kitchen, with a gas hob and double eye level ovens. Fridge/Freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, toaster and much more. We have created a tea and coffee station in the hub of the home which is easily accessible to all guest's and will conveniently keep unnecessary traffic out of the kitchen during meal preparation times. The dining room is positioned near one of the 2 wood burning fireplaces in the house and offers wonderful views out onto the gardens and over the Ruigtevlei.  The lounge, which offers a fireplace ideal for cooler evenings, is cosy and perfectly positioned between the bar, kitchen and dining room. A solid oak pool table, giving a great option for lazy evening's at home, is also in the bar area There is an outdoor BBQ/Braai and seating area that is set off from the lounge. Fire wood is provided during guest’s stay.   Full DSTV package Free uncapped The hosts, Cheryl and Danny, reside on a portion of the property which is some 5 minutes away by car. Guests are very welcome to contact them should they require any assistance during their stay. Guests will require a vehicle as the property is situated some 10 km outside of Sedgefield. Other things to note... The access road to the property is a bumpy gravel road of approximately 500m The home is not serviced during your stay as we value our guest's privacy and we wish to be conscientious that we keep our contact with our guest’s to a minimum due to the current pandemic. Anita, our live-in cleaning lady, is available on request at at additional charge.  Linen & bath towels are provided. Towels are changed every 3rd day. Linen is changed once per week for booking's exceeding 7 night's. All bedrooms offer a hairdryer. A small safe is in the home. There will be basic toiletries and cleaning materials to get guest's settled in. Firewood is provided for during your stay.   We endeavour to offer guests a welcome package with goods either produced or grown on the farm. This may include Cheryl’s freshly baked bread or some of her tasty rusks or her preserves made from produce grown on the farm. The house offers a washing machine and tumble dryer. A cot is available. Please let us know beforehand should you require a cot. Guest's are requested to be conscientious to the environment and wildlife. Be aware of the many tortoises as well as other wildlife as you approach the property and certainly within the property as they can easily be missed. Please drive slowly. Baboons and Vervet monkeys may pass through the property from time to time. They are wild animals and under no circumstances should you try to interact with them or feed them. We do suggest keeping the windows and doors closed when they are about or when you go out.
