Coddiwomple
Coddiwomple; To travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination Situated in the popular market town of Leyburn, this it the ideal base for a holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. You are just a short walk from all the town has to offer; the shops, restaurants, cafes, ample hair and beauty salons and not forgetting the handful of pubs to meet the locals. The house has been recently redecorated and furnished to provide with a comfortable, homely stay. Help yourself to tea/coffee/hot chocolate, make yourself at home in the cosy bay window, watch TV or movies through freeview or cast direct to the Chromecast. On arrival you will also find a welcome gift of some local produce to enjoy. When there's good weather you can even make use of the outdoor table and chairs, soaking in the sun in the cute little, secluded back garden. Look out for the artistic photographs hung around the place, taken by a budding local photographer - if you like it, you can even buy it! There are two off road car parks at the house and plenty of free parking in the town centre should you need it. Entire house to yourself, a perfect place for "staycation" or working from home I am living in NZ and have started this venture with my mum. You can let yourself (key instructions will be given on reservation confirmation) and if needed you can be welcomed by my mum, Margaret, who is a local in the town and help you with local advice. She will be available via phone or text if you have any issues during your stay! You can stay within walking distance of Leyburn and take a stroll along "The Shawl" - an old tale goes that this hill top walk was aptly named after Mary Queen of Scots fled from Bolton Castle, running towards Leyburn when she dropped her shawl and was captured going back for it. I'll let you decide if this is the real story or not... Or you can go further afield to explore the valley of Wensleydale and all it has to offer, take a stop at the Bolton Castle to relive the days of Mary Queen of Scots, then pull in by Aysgarth falls to view where the filming of the fight scene between Robin Hood and Little John took place, but don't forget to call in at the Wensleydale Creamery to watch the cheese making in action as well as taste a variety of ways to flavour the beautiful, creamy cheese - let us know which is your favourite! Personally I love the caramelised onion variety. If you arrive by car then you will be able to follow signage, or your (Hidden by Airbnb) maps, to explore the surround dales. There is also a local bus service that will take you many places, although you will have to check the timetables!
