Wren's Nest Retreat
Do you want a cosy, comfy and quiet haven for the perfect rural escape? A short walk to a traditional country pub with the stunning Northumberland Coast and castles nearby? Wren’s Nest offers this and a little bit more… A short drive from the A1, Wren’s Nest is a detached, secluded, single storey property with stunning panoramic scenery. Set in its own garden with private parking and level access to all areas, this spacious 1 bed property is the perfect escape for any couple. Nestling on the edge of Newton on the Moor and overlooking Alnwick Moor, Wren’s Nest has been sympathetically converted from an artists’ studio into a thoughtfully designed, open plan, accessible living space that makes best use of the breath-taking vista. The well-equipped kitchen and dining area include a dishwasher, washing machine and Neff Slide and Hide oven. The living space leads into the bedroom, with luxury king-size bed and bedding and ample hanging and storage for clothing. The spacious en-suite bathroom has a walk-in wet room style shower with rain head and additional detachable shower head. To complete it all, fluffy towels are provided. From the kitchen, take a beverage of your choice through patio doors and onto the secluded raised terrace. Sit and take time out to admire the spectacular views from our property. We aim to meet and greet all guests, but if that’s not possible, there is a key safe. We live in the cottage close to Wren’s Nest and are available, if you need us. Just a short walk from the property is the Cook and Barker Inn. This traditional country inn offers both simple bar meals, or for something special, an A la Carte menu in the restaurant with an excellent selection of wines and beers. Booking is recommended. The bar and restaurant are accessible for those using wheelchairs. Wren’s Nest is a short drive to the A1. This gives ready access to all parts of Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Books, leaflets and information about local walks, attractions and events are provided. One small, well-behaved dog is welcome. Please note, we do not class the outdoor space as dog secure, due to the open nature of the grounds.
