Bury St Edmunds is the jewel in the crown of Suffolk and an ideal place for a weekend break or longer. The main historical sites are all within 10 minutes walk whilst the town also boasts the restored Regency theatre, the Theatre Royal (15 mins walk) and for modern bands and concerts, The Apex (20 mins walk). Angel Hill (10 mins walk) has a number of excellent pubs and restaurants and the magnificent Angel Hotel (bar and restaurant open to non-guests) where Charles Dickens stayed. Bury St Edmunds is also home to the Greene King Brewery where guided tours can be taken. Bury St Edmunds railway station is a 10 minute drive or 25 minute walk away and provides connections to Cambridge and Ipswich (35 minutes each) and London (from 90 minutes).
