The Beachhouse is a unique gem in a truly magical private beach location. The sandy cornish cove of Porthgwarra is at the end of your private garden. The SW coastal path & the sea runs alongside the property. You can walk out of the front door & walk up to Hella Point or you can go straight down to the beach. Lands End, Sennen, Minack Theatre, Porthcurno are all a short walk away.. Amazing secret beaches plus lots of wild bird & sea life. incl. seals at end of garden. A very special place. The Beachhouse (Hella) is a stunning Cornish holiday conversion which has been designed and built just for two in it’s own large private Garden at the water’s edge in a beautiful Cornish Cove called Porthgwarra near Land’s End. Hella and Porthgwarra feature in the 2016 BBC version of Poldark (the swimming scene & the wrecking scene). If you dream of escaping the city & staying so close to the sea in a beautiful location then come and stay. Hella’s garden is located right at the waters edge (at high tide) and is as close as you can get to the sea without getting your feet wet. The large private garden for your sole use directly adjoins the sea shore and there is a detached Summer House for shaded reading and BBQ’s. There are also 2 Muskoka chairs and a fire bowl for your use in this beautiful authentic seaside Cornish garden so you can spend your holiday relaxing by the sea watching the seals and the boats go by all in the privacy of your own garden. Hella is a new eco build: in 2014 it was was transformed from a workshop into a private discreet retreat for 2 people. Hella is located right at the edge of the stunning and unspoilt Porthgwarra Cornish Cove which is just 3 miles from Land’s End and a 1 mile walk along the South West Coast path to the magical outdoor theatre under the stars, the world famous Minack Theatre next to the stunning and well known Porthcurno Beach. If you really want to get away from it all and relax and walk next to the Cornish sea and live amongst nature in beautiful surroundings, please do come and stay. Hella is properly dog friendly at no extra charge for 2 dogs. There are fantastic walks along the coast paths either to the West for Lands End, Sennen, and St Just & East for the Minack Theatre, Porthcurno, Lamorna and Mousehole. All of these places are stunning and worth a visit, along the way on the South West Coast Path you will experience some of the most dramatic scenery in the World. Whole place plus personal exclusive ocean side, directly over Porthgwarra beach (the closest house in Porthgwarra to the cove) private garden with seating and firebowl is all yours to enjoy. Please bring wood for the firebowl. Yes, of course, we will be there to help you - text , call or email us . Hella is a perfect hidden retreat directly on the edge of the cove with just a small private garden between the Terrace and the sea. It is the first house on the right of the above picture which was taken during the shooting of Poldark in the Summer of 2014. Facing South, the sun shines into Hella all day long. Seals play in the waves and seabirds of all varieties are to be found in abundance. Porthgwarra is famous among birdwatchers; it is the first south facing shelter for migrating species and rare birds are regular visitors. You will also almost certainly see pods of dolphins and basking sharks in summer months. Winter is the time for spectacular waves and stormy walks with a cosy warm place to hole up and get away from it all(URL HIDDEN) Hella Details. The living area is spacious, with a solid ash floor. There is TV/DVD WIFI broadband and a bluetooth speaker for your music. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas cooker, electric oven, dishwasher and everything you need to cook up a storm. The bathroom has a walk in rainforest shower but no bath. The sleeping platform has a kingsized mezzanine bed, top quality natural bedding and a huge rooflight to let the sun flood in. Another rooflight over the bed can be opened to stargaze from the comfort of your pillow. This is a newly converted fully central heated space so full insulation means a living area cool in summer and toasty warm in winter. There is hard stand parking for 1 car at the edge of the garden. Places to Go; Hella is in a truly magical location. The SW coastal path runs alongside the property. You can walk out of the front door and go straight up onto Hella Point where dolphin watchers are often staked out. Keep going towards Lands End,past the national Coastwatch Institute lookout and you will arrive at Nanjizal bay in about 45 minutes. This is a totally unspoilt sandy beach where dogs are allowed . There is no direct car access, meaning the beach feels like a well kept secret even at the height of summer. Head East & you soon reach PorthChapel Beach and then onto Porthcurno. The Minack Theatre is about 25 minutes walk this way. Situated in a unique cliff top position, the theatre offers a weekly repertory of great theatre thro' the Spring and Summer. There is a programme in Hella and on-line For surfers the Sennen beach is just waiting! Dave Muir runs the Sennen surfing centre Classes for all ages and abilities are offered. Experienced surfers can also use the beautiful less developed beach at Gwenver just next door. Places to Eat: The beautiful beach at Sennen has a beach cafe for pizzas and meals on the waters edge, a Beach Bar for sundowner cocktails and a restaurant. West Cornwall has some great scenery and some great places to eat. There are also lots of cultural activities as we have a vibrant art scene. We will supply a Guide to all the best and latest places to go/eat/see and do. Best to have a car and be good at reversing -the lanes are narrow Due to it's remote location and distance from the cab, wifi & also phone reception can be patchy and or non existent. If you need superfast stable wifi then the Beachhouse is not for you.
