Upstairs bedroom with a King size bed in a deceptively large, light, bright and airy modern house in a peaceful private road. This large bedroom has been recently redecorated and refurnished. It has a shared bathroom (unless no other guests staying at the time) with a shower over the large bath. Our guests are welcome to relax in the downstairs family lounge adjoining the kitchen diner where there are 2 double sofas and a flat screen TV. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the kitchen for guests to make drinks whenever they wish. The individual bedrooms plus allocated bathroom and the downstairs kitchen/diner plus attached lounge area. While we are happy for guests to use the kitchen to make drinks, for safety guests are not able to cook in the kitchen. We live in the house so we will be available during your stay to offer advice and information on the local area, places to eat and visit etc. Our home is between the South Downs national park and the south coast in an area of outstanding natural beauty making it ideal for walking, cycling and exploring. The beautiful Sussex coast with a range of beaches and access for water sports is but a few miles away. Within easy travelling distance there is a wide range of world class sporting and cultural events, including horse and motor racing at Goodwood, horse racing at Fontwell, Gold Cup polo at Cowdray Park Midhurst and drama at the renowned Chichester Festival Theatre. A few miles away is the historic cathedral city of Chichester with it's comprehensive array of shops and lively restaurants and bars as well as the internationally renowned Chichester Festival Theatre. The picturesque town of Arundel with its famous historic castle and cathedral, many antique shops and tea rooms is also just a short drive away. The Goodwood estate, home of the internationally renowned Festival of Speed and Revival motor festival as well as horse racing at probably the UKs most scenic horse racing course, is just 5 miles away and the Fontwell race course famed for its national hunt racing is just 2 miles away. Slightly further afield at around 40 minutes drive is the port city of Portsmouth with its historic naval dockyard and home to the Royal Navy. To the east is the seaside city of Brighton around 40 to 50 minutes drive. Brighton is famous for the extravagant Royal Pavilion and its vibrant nightlife. There is good rail access to these principal towns from Barnham station. Road connections make driving along the south coast very easy with main roads linking all the major towns and cities. There is also the main south coast rail link up to central London with a journey time of around 1 hour and 40 minutes making day trips easily accessible. There are also good rail links along the south coast between Southampton, Portsmouth and Brighton. The roads in the local area are generally flat so OK for cycling and the South Downs add some hills if you're looking for something a bit more challenging! Within easy driving there is access to scenic walks in the Downs or along harbour and countryside trails. Our house is on a private road so we respect our neighbours. For guests arriving later in the evening or departing early in the morning we request that they keep noise to a minimum to ensure harmony.
