Charlie the Glampervan

When you want the fun of camping with the comforts of home – you need a Glampervan! Charlie is a 4 berth luxury Glampervan. Although longer than a car, Charlie doesn't take long to get used too. He is decked out with the comforts of home & some unexpected luxuries. Perfect for short weekends away, special events , just getting back to basics or even a few weeks exploring Britain ..... or Europe. Why not hire Charlie's brothers Alfie & Billy - and have yourself a convoy!! To drive Charlie, he is all Ford! Although longer than a car, Charlie doesn't take long to get used to driving. He has 6 gears and happily cruises along a motorway at 70 miles an hour (the legal limit for campervans in the UK). The driver needs to stay aware of Charlie's 2.95m height (and not drive through MacDonalds - just park in the car park!!) and the 7.45m length behind (Charlie is the longest of our Glampervans!). Charlie has a reversing camera on the rear which automatically turns on whenever the vehicle is in reverse; but asking a passenger to get out and direct when parking [if safe!] is sensible. Inside Charlie's 'Glamper' home you will find a dining area that comfortably seats 5, a fully equipped kitchen including cooker, hob, fridge and freezer; a bathroom with sink, toilet and shower; a queen sized island bed located at the rear of the vehicle [with access directly to either side of the bed - definitely better for those of us who can't stop giggling as they climb over their bed-pal at 3 in the morning after a couple of glasses of vino!!] Above the dining area is an electric drop down bed that is easily raised and lowered at the touch of a button. The bed is tested to ensure it can hold over 500kg so no need to worry there!!!. All of the on board luxuries are powered by either the Glampervan's leisure battery (charged by the solar panel, the vehicle or power cable when plugged in) or by calor gas. Collection from airports or train stations may be arranged on request. You will have a 40 minute hand over at collection to show you how to use everything on board. But don't worry - if you forget, there is a full instruction book on board, or just call Louise for help!! You are welcome to leave your car parked in our yard. Vehicles are left at your own risk and you should check with your insurance provider whether your policy will cover loss or damage whilst parked at the site. The collection location is High Wycombe - Junction 4 of the M40. Closest railway station: High Wycombe (trains from Marylebone Station in London - Chiltern Line) Heathrow airport is 40kms (approx £40 in a cab) Each driver will need to supply supporting documentation and sign a 'Driver's Details and Insurance Acceptance' statement. The main 'Guest' will also need to sign a separate Glampervan UK booking agreement accepting Glampervan UKs terms and conditions - to ensure that the LV insurance is valid. An £800 security and insurance excess deposit is required. This will be held - and refunded if no damage or other charges are incurred - by Airbnb. In addition a £5 payment will be required as a 'traceable' transaction for the insurance provider. If attending a festival – there will be an additional £250 charge (inclusive of VAT). Failure to notify that you are attending a festival will be a breach of your agreement and cancel your insurance cover. ** Glastonbury charges are available on request. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept the following drivers: a) Persons who have been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle and/or have had their driving licence endorsed or suspended; or had more than 6 penalty points imposed. b) Persons who have had their insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of previous claims and/or have had their insurance or cover cancelled by any Motor Insurer. c) Persons engaged wholly or partly in professional entertainment or professional sports persons. d) Jockeys and persons connected with racing, gaming industry or press of any sort. e) Undergraduates and/or students under 25 years of age. f) Persons who, whilst driving, have been involved in more than one accident during the past 3 years. g) Foreign Service Personnel other than persons holding a full UK/EU licence for two years or more. h) Drivers can be rejected at the Owners discretion.
