The Foxes Den has a quirky, interior, it's not like your usual caravan. Using up-cycled, mid-century furniture to create a cosy bohemian space it's a great little getaway for a romantic week for a couple with beautiful coastline walks or a family holiday choosing to use the onsite entertainment centre or do it your own way. Beaches mere steps away and a quaint river view. There are more photos to follow as I am still doing-up the place bit by bit. Oct 2019. Started second bedroom re-vamp. The Caravan. I think it's important for guests to note that my place is deliberatly different. There are vintage ornaments around to compliment the interior design - none of these are family heirlooms and some of the fixtures, fittings and linens are deliberately actual vintage items. I have books around for guests use and trinkets boxes to put your jewellery in should you need them, loads of utensils and pans etc -all of these things you can use. If you like stark, beige and cream spaces then you need to book hotel - this is a cosy and quirky space, full of character. The entertainment centre... Is far enough away from my little bolt hole that you can completely ignore it if you want too. If you do prefer to use it there are charges for passes to use the pool and entertainment. These can be bought from the reception on arrival. There is an onsite launderette, children's play park, small convenience shop, fish and chip shop and a small amusements centre you can use without a pass. The fish and chips are usually excellent. On-site - Launderette, Convenience shop, Play Park, Basketball Court, Fish and Chip shop, Amusements, Beach/River walks. Onsite with a pass - Pool and Evening Entertainment. Children's entertainment (in school holidays.) Nearby - a two min drive or half an hour walk from the quaint Seaside town of Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, two large Asda stores and more seaside castles and rivers and breathtaking coastline and quaint towns than you can shake a stick at. Nearby by car - Alnwick Castle, Warkworth, Amble, Rothbury, market town of Morpeth, Newcastle City centre and indoor shopping in Gateshead at the Metro Centre. There are also many cinemas nearby. You can't go wrong really. I only live 5 mins drive away, having recently moved back to the area after 20 years in Manchester. You can contact me if needed by phone. I'm usually fairly easy to get hold of though occasionally hampered by my two young children and I do run my own business. I prefer people to check in around 2pm-6pm as I am a single parent and have my boys after school so anything in the evening is difficult for me in terms of physical availability. It is a self check in but I do like to pop by and say hello. Nearby by foot - Newbiggin-by-the-Sea (seaside town), beach and river walk. Nearby by car - Alnwick Castle, Seaside towns of Warkworth, Amble and inland the market towns of Morpeth and Rothbury. If you like shopping or a good night out then Newcastle City centre is only half an hour on a bus or 15mins in a car and for indoor shopping there is the Metro Centre 20mins by car in Gateshead. There are also many cinemas nearby. The nearest is at Silverlink retail park, towards the Tyne Tunnel. A car is best in Northumberland as there are lots of little towns but there is public transport, buses being the main and best way to get around. There is a bus stop at the entrance to the holiday park. Best taxi firm is Ashington Taxis but book early they are always busy. Phoenix taxis in Blyth are also good. I have a few baby/toddler bits around like toilet seat, and kids cutlery and plates, homemade blackout blind, Changing Matt, sit up seat with feeding try attachment etc, feel free to use these. Most of the stuff can be found under bunk beds apart from the obvious kitchen stuff. I'm still gradually decorating bit by bit so you may notice slightly different things than in the photos but I will do my best to update as I go along. This is our little holiday home, we treasure it and we trust you will look after it the way we would. It's important to note it's not a hotel and does not look like one but we'd love you to love it as much as me and my two little boys do.
