Gostelow House, a C16 Tudor House

Gostelow House, circa 1540, is a Grade II listed building surrounded by ¾ acre of secure gardens. There is an outdoor pool (unheated), bar, patio area and barbecues for your use. This family house is of half timbered Tudor design. Whilst the house retains its character with inglenook fireplaces and low ceilings and beams it has all the modern touches you would expect. Although we won’t be here when you stay we’d like to think that you feel as though you are our guests. We operate a trust system whereby everything you find in the kitchen is available for you to use and replace or refund. However please bear in mind that your stay is self-catering, and as such you should plan to bring everything you will need for your stay. You will have full access to the private rear garden and pool, and all rooms in the house. We would kindly ask you not to go into the Pantry, the Linen cupboard and our personal wardrobes/drawers. I will always try to be here for your arrival, but if not I will give you clear access instructions. The house is situated in the small village of Chalton which has a farm selling fresh free range eggs. There is a good dining pub a few steps from the house. The larger village of Toddington is 2 miles away and has a historic church, a library, a number of village shops, various takeaways and four pubs. Gostelow House is 5 minutes from junction 12 of the M1. Leagrave, a suburb of Luton is 3 miles away with fast rail access to London (45 min) and Bedford (20 min). Milton Keynes 15 miles to the north, offers a wealth of shopping and entertainment. Oxford and Cambridge are an hour's drive away. There is a double Futon in the office. It is necessary to go through the office to access the Attic room. You should be aware that our family includes a couple of cats. The cats will interact with you as much, or little, as you like. The Living room and all bedrooms, except the main bedroom and office area, are kept cat free.
