We are pleased to offer our recently refurbished annex with double bedroom, private bathroom and own front door. Oast Cottage is a converted stables attached to the main Oast House dating back to the 1800s. The Oast is set in a conservation area of Boughton Monchelsea which consists of converted farm buildings, listed houses and a 16th Century pub (directly opposite). The area boasts many places to visit (including Leeds Castle), countryside walks, as well as numerous pubs and restaurants. The space consists of a large double bedroom with king sized bed, tea/coffee making facilities, WiFi, Cable TV with all channels including Netflix, sport and films. A bathroom adjoins the room with bath and power shower. Within the cottage there is fridge, microwave, iron and tableware for guests to use. Water, milk, tea/coffee and biscuits are included. The annex is on one level with its own front door and an area outside the front of the cottage with a table and chairs, free parking directly outside the cottage is provided. Full private access to the annex, with private bathroom, own entrance and bedroom We will be available for any questions or help during your stay Boughton Monchelsea lies on a ragstone ridge between the North Downs and the Weald of Kent. The name of the village comes from a corruption of the Norman family name Montchensie and the Anglo Saxon Boc Tun (Beech Tree Settlement). The area is famed for its ragstone which you will with the Cottage and the local area. The stone from the local quarry was used in the building of Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. The house sits in a conservation area with several listed buildings and the Cock Inn (directly opposite) that dates back to the 16th century. The Greensand way footpath passes through Boughton Monchelsea and affords wonderful views of the Kent countryside and many country walks. There are many places of interest nearby including Leeds Castle, Sissinghurst Castle, the picturesque village of Yalding, Hush Heath Vineyards and Estate and the county town of Kent Maidstone. Within a 45 minute drive you can reach the port of Dover and Eurotunnel Shuttle Terminal, Tunbridge Wells, Cranbrook, beaches of Rye and Whitstable and many other places of interest. There are several country pubs and restaurants nearby including The Curious Eatery (less than a mile away), The Bull at Linton (with lovely countryside views) and The Potting Shed. We consider ourselves very lucky to live in an area which has wonderful places to visit and several nice pubs and restaurants. Marden and Staplehurst Stations are ten minutes drive away with a direct connection to London (50 Mins) and Ashford (30 mins). The M20 (junction 8) is ten minutes away and the Port of Dover and Eurotunnel Shuttle Terminal are 45 minutes away. If you have allergies relating to feathers and down in bedding please let us know and we will ensure we use anti-allergy bedding.
