Our apartment is perfect for a couple or a family to relax and explore this beautiful part of the country. The scenery around here is absolutely stunning and the local towns of Hebden Bridge and Halifax are very interesting both historically and artistically. It has been our life's passion to rebuild this wonderful coaching house into the most amazing country home imaginable! Far too magnificent to keep to ourselves,we invite you to come and enjoy it too! The apartment sleeps 4 people in 1 double and 1 twin room and is a wonderful space in the most beautiful countryside! It's a fabulous open-plan space - fresh, light, airy, modern, stimulating and ingenious with some extraordinary touches: Japanese style screens around the raised double bed in the main room, metal and perspex stairs leading to a cosy twin roof room - high tech meeting old timbers. Marvellous chunky beams, wide planked floors, original art on subtle walls. The apartment has its own entrance and has most modcons, including TV/DVD, CD/radio, games, books, iron+board etc. There is a very well equipped kitchen with gas cooker/oven/grill, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster etc. and a dining table for 6 people. Guests are welcome to use the sundeck (shared with owners and wildlife) overlooking the old mill pond, as well as a stone-flagged dining patio. Bring your fishing rod and try your luck with the Carp, Bream, Chubb and Perch in the millpond. We are serious old car nuts - especially Citroëns and Dan always welcomes anyone who is interested in old cars (he has a very large garage which people often disappear in to for hours!) We can sometimes even provide inside parking for that extra special old car. There is a separate laundry room which is available for guests to use and some guests have even made use of the piano in the music room (with a bit of prior notice). We are generally on hand to answer any queries that you may have and if you don't feel like cooking....Hilly absolutely loves to - so excellent evening meals and packed lunches are normally available with just a little notice! Many guests have become good friends and come back time and time again. This is a fabulous area for entertainment and eating places, we are extremely lucky! We have theatres, cinemas, music venues, museums and galleries within a 15 minute drive and Leeds and Manchester are both very easy to get to. Just ask and we will let you know what's going on. Of course - the beautiful Pennine landscape is right outside the door offering wonderful walking, bird watching, mountain biking and touring opportunities so you can just show up and chill out if you want to! The recently restored Piece Hall in Halifax is a must with its International feel, cafés, bars, theatre and cinema. The surrounding countryside has been used as locations for several TV series' and films so if you fancy some 'Gentleman Jack' location-spotting or just getting away to be with nature and do some walking, or fishing in our well-stocked millpond then this is the perfect venue for you! We can collect you from local rail/bus stations if you like - just phone us to make arrangements. Also the bus from Halifax stops right outside the mill next door. We have plenty of private parking. It is a loft apartment so up two flights of stairs! We provide a welcome pack with a few essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar, milk, butter, bread, eggs, muesli etc. and one of us is usually on hand if you need anything else.
