I live in the adjoining property, so can be helpful on every level. I have a local handyman that can sort any problems that may occur at the property itself during your stay. Witney is a bustling town with a selection of large supermarkets: Sainsbury's/Waitrose/Lidil. There is a good collection of high street stores inc; Joules, H&M, Next, M&S, Debenhams, Jigsaw, Fat Face, WHsmiths, boots to name but a few. Witney has a cinema complex and lots of pubs and restaurants offering food choices from around the world. The market town of Burford is a stunning place to visit and browse through the many independent shops selling local art, produce and antiques. It is arguably one of the prettiest villages in the Cotswolds with amazing Cotswold stone cottages. Bampton, home to the outside shots of Downton Abby is a short 10-minute drive away and well worth a (Website hidden by Airbnb) has some cute tea shops, pubs and restaurants. There are some great restaurants all over the local area, you really are spoilt for choice. My favourites being: * The lamb, Crawley * The Blue Boar, Witney * The 5 Alls, Filkins * The Plough, Kelmscott * The Bell, Ducklington * The Lord Kitchener, Curbridge * The Trout, Tadpole Bridge * The Maytime Inn, Asthall * The Swan, Swinbrook No trip to the local area would be complete without visiting the awe-inspiring Blenheim Palace, only 10-minute drive away, set in acres of beautiful gardens and parkland. It is the famous stately home, Sir Winston Churchill. The adjoining town of Woodstock is also a must for gift/art/coffee shops and restaurants. The Cotswolds wildlife Park is a must with children. It’s a great place with lots to do for the whole family. There is a 1-mile country bridle path which takes you into the centre of Witney. There is also a regular bus service at the top of the road (20 mins walk) that takes you to Witney and Oxford. Depending on times of arrival there is a key-box at the property in which keys will be left to enable you to gain access.
