The Railway Carriage, Woodchurch, Kent
The Railway Carriage is the perfect getaway for couples looking for some peace and tranquility and an escape from the rat-race. It is set in a 6-acre field next to a pond overlooking farmland, with exclusive use of all facilities. Easy access to several footpaths, with a lovely village pub within 20 minutes walk. Just 20 minutes from J9 of the M20, so within easy access for London. The Railway Carriage has been designed for those who are looking for a 'glamping' experience with a twist, and provides a great deal of comfort for a couple looking for a quiet getaway. There is a kitchenette with tea and coffee provided, a double bed, heating for those chilly summer or autumn nights, and eco-friendly shower and toilet facilities. The electricity is supplied by solar panels, please note though, that there is no 3pin 240volt plug sockets. However there are electricity sockets in the yard a short walk from the carriage that can be used. Guests can enjoy barbecues on the gas barbecue provided overlooking the pond and there is also a fire pit to keep you warm on cooler nights. Exclusive use to the toilet and bathroom. We are always happy to help guests with anything they need, but appreciate they are here for peace and quiet, so tend to stay in the background. There are two lovely pubs in Woodchurch village which offer excellent food. There is also a village shop, an excellent butcher, and the Woodchurch Windmill which is a tourist attraction. The carriage is close to the Rare Breeds Centre, local vineyards Chapel Down in Tenterden and Biddenden Vineyard, and within easy reach of Rye and Hythe for beach lovers. You would ideally have a car or motorbike, but there is also a regular bus which goes from the village to both Tenterden and Ashford
