A cottage in the South Downs
Our cottage is in the heart of a small hamlet within the South Downs National Park. You’ll love it because of its character, views and the location. Just a mile from Seaford Bay beach its suitable for couples, groups of friends and families. Sleeping arrangements are flexible. the first floor bedroom has a double bed. The top floor bedroom has two single beds which can be put together to make a super king - extremely comfy:) There are Futon Company sofa beds (single) in the two living areas. Guests use the whole cottage - kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, second living area/study, ensuite shower room. It has a lovely garden with spaces for eating your meal, reading and relaxing. Guests are welcome to use the sun loungers and shed - which is kitted out for relaxing in. All If you are renting the whole house we will communicate by text and or email / (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Depending on my schedule I may be here to greet you. The cottage is in a very beautiful quiet hamlet and next to a working South Downs farm. You will feel away from it all. At the same time it's just a mile to the coastal road, local railway station, and beach beach. You can walk into the most beautiful countryside straight from the front door. If you arrive by car you can park directly outside the house. It's also possible to come by public transport and walk, cycle or take a taxi from the station ( about £8.00). We are a mile from the nearest station / bus stop and about 2 miles from the nearest shop. If you are coming without a car please let us know as we'd like to offer you a discount in the hope this will encourage more car free travel. For walkers it is a 3 mile detour from the South Downs Way - a lovely walk with no roads to cross - a big draw when we chose the cottage. We sometimes enjoy being here without a car - it helps us to really relax as its a lovely place and area to spend time in. If you choose to come without a car please let me know as we want to encourage this way of travelling and will apply a 10% discount. Our home is a 17th century cottage and very charming. Please note this does mean that on the top floor ceilings are low! There is central heating in all rooms except the living room which has a wood-burning stove. I leave instructions on how to use this and fuel for your stay, and can answer any questions about how to use it. I also leave an electric radiator in the living room room if you prefer to use this.
