This stone-built, end-terrace cottage in the market town of Middleham sleeps three people in two bedrooms. Cartmel Cottage is a stone-built, end-terrace cottage just off the main square of the North Yorkshire market town of Middleham, just a couple of miles from Leyburn. The cottage contains one double and one single bedroom which with the addition of a family bathroom make it suitable for three people. The rest of the cottage is made up of an open plan living area with a fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a woodburning stove. To the outside of the cottage is a gravelled garden and patio with outdoor furniture. Cartmel Cottage is centrally placed just a minute's walk from the main facilities of Middleham and is a wonderful cottage for visiting this area of Yorkshire. Amenities: Gas central heating with woodburning stove. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, TV with Freeview, Blu-ray DVD, CD/digital radio/MP3 player with iPhone Lightning dock, WiFi. Fuel, power and starter pack for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Gravelled garden with patio and furniture. Roadside parking outside property, plus roadside parking in the main square approx 50 yards away. Two well-behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 1 min walk. Region: From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer? Town: The Wensleydale town of Middleham is renowned for its history and race horses. Much of the history is bound up with its Norman castle, which dates from 1190 and has a castle keep second in size only to the Tower of London. The pretty market square is partially cobbled and offers a wide range of shops, pubs and places to eat. The bustling market town of Leyburn is just a short drive away, offering a variety of great shops and pubs. All in all a superb base for exploring Wensleydale and all within easy driving distance of York, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales and Heritage Coast.
