Dobcross is situated in Saddleworth in the parish Oldham in Greater Manchester. It is one of 13 picturesque villages and hamlets nestled into the west side of the Pennine hills. It hosts vibrant cultural events and unique traditions like the Whit Friday brass band contests, yanks/ war themed weekend, rush cart, Yorkshire day and folk and beer festivals. More recently the area has hosted mini music festivals (Wellifest/Cotton Clouds) less than 2 miles away. It is a great countryside escape and has a range of attractions including outdoor pursuits (walking, climbing, horse riding), canal trips, Brownhill sensory garden, boutique shops and a range of bars, pubs and eateries. A short drive away there are retail parks, shopping centres, cinemas, theatres, art galleries and much more. There are good rail links to Manchester, Huddersfield and Leeds City Centres. Great road and rail links with regular and reliable public transport and local taxi firms. There are lots of lanes, paths and bridleways linking the villages so if you prefer to walk rather than drive you can do so avoiding major roads. There are steep steps (without a handrail) leading to the Front Door, if this is a problem for you, there is a sloped path to the right of the property which leads to the front door avoiding the steps. There is off road parking for guests, we just respectfully ask you to park as close the the front steps as possible as John needs room to get his van on and off the drive. Our Response to Covid 19: We are observing current Government guidelines to keep ourselves and guests safe. Whist we always maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, we are putting in additional measures in place to keep our guests safe. These include deep cleaning / disinfecting between guests, providing antibacterial hand wash and tissues and pre-packaged snacks. Keys and remote controls will be sanitised between guests. We will social distance during any interaction and in addition will wear a mask if guests would like us too (please request this prior to your stay). In Saddleworth, there are lots of open spaces allowing everyone plenty of space to enjoy and explore our beautiful surroundings. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any individual requirements and we will try to accommodate you. We look forward to welcoming our guests. Regards Terri & John
