Guests have their own private access into our 16th century grade 2 listed property.The staircase has its own listing ! It is presented in a unique style with exposed original plasterwork where fragments of horsehair can still be seen. Illuminated by an antique crystal chandelier it sets the tone for the rest of the apartment where a modern style and contemporary art is juxtaposed with ancient oak beams. The suite is entered through a compact dining kitchen sufficiently equipped to rustle up an occasional simple meal. Leading off is the bathroom with a large walk in shower. The spacious bedroom features a king size French bed with a memory foam Mattress and 100% cotton bed linen. There is a useful desk and WiFi is of course available. Deynes house in which this apartment is located is a large 16 th century timber framed house with a later Georgian period extension . The entrance to the suite is (Website hidden by Airbnb) is completely private. It sits within an acre of garden which our guests may enjoy as they wish with exception of the areas immediately around the other out buildings . There are sitting out areas and guests can smoke outside if they wish. We will be available to our guests as required when we are in , and should we be out , will always be easily contactable and happy to provide whatever advice or help they may need to enjoy the local area. Debden is a small village on the outskirts of Saffron Walden 3 miles away. Debden has a traditional village pub with real ales and an outstanding restaurant serving exceptional food at very good prices. There is also a Nepalese / Indian restaurant which is very popular and provides a take away service too. We have a unique village community shop and post office with limited opening hours. There is a beautiful village church with regular services. Saffron Walden is an ancient market town with a variety of notable historic monuments and too many attractions and facilities to list here. Cambridge is about 30 minutes drive away and London 30 miles. Stansted Airport is 20 minutes drive away and the station to London and Cambridge 10 minutes. There is parking at the property. Trains are frequent and the station close by. A local village link bus service into Saffron Walden and to Stansted airport is 2 mins walk away. Our property is well known in our village and so guests will be able to find it easily. There are footpaths directly outside which allow for lovely walks in all directions.A local bus service to Stansted airport is on the doorstep. Parking whilst guests travel from Stansted can be arranged as can drop-offs and pickups, all much cheaper than alternatives.A second separate double bedroom can be booked so that larger groups can share the suite.
