Luxurious holiday house, Lake Hilgelo, Achterhoek

Spacious holiday home on a quiet park - fully refurbished in 2016. Close to a beautiful lake with sandy beach, lovely restaurant, beach-club, working windmill and a massive indoor play barn. Everything is only a couple of minutes walking distance. There is a walking & cycling path all round the lake which links up to many regional and national cycle ways and gets you into the centre of Winterswijk in about 10 minutes where you can indulge in shopping, culture, food and the local nightlife. Built in the style of the local old barns this is a light, spacious and characterful holiday house. Downstairs: The open plan living space includes the well equipped kitchen (incl. Nespresso and Senseo coffee makers), dining and living areas, which have great views through the large barn style windows onto the garden. There is a bathroom (freestanding bath, WC & washer/ dryer) and entrance hall with cloakroom. There is underfloor heating throughout downstairs. Upstairs: The master bedroom has a large double bed (160x200) complete with heated blanket. It also has a vintage dressing table (my grandmothers...) - with hair dryer - and a large built-in wardrobe with small wall safe. The second bedroom has 2 single beds which can easily be put together. As with the master bedroom it comes with built in wardrobes. This room also contains a selection of kids toys, board games and puzzles. There is a 3rd bedroom / office upstairs in which we have built a toddler bed (160x70cm) - this doubles as a play area with castle curtains! There is a shower room upstairs with under-floor heating. For the little ones - we have two high chairs, baby bath, stairgate and a cot available, just let us know in advance what you need so we can put it together ready for your arrival. Wireless/Cable TV: There is good wireless and a cable TV which has all the main channels from Holland, England and Germany. The TV is a ultraHD flatscreen. There is also a bluray dvd player with plenty of dvds to choose from. Pretty much everything you need is available including bedding, bath and hand towels, tea towels, dish cloths, washing up liquid, hand soap, shower & hair products, toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, washing machine tablets & softener, coffee, tea, salt, pepper and we put out a welcome pack with all the essentials to get you going that first evening and next morning. Outside: Outside there is lots of space around the house. At the back of the house - which is south facing - there is a patio where we have a round table and chairs with sun umbrella and a sofa/lounge set (cushions available during the Summer months). There is a also a lawn to play football or badminton. The private road is very quiet and the house has its own gated drive (to keep little ones safely in the garden) and you can park your car out of the sun in the carport. There is a lockable garage with two adult bikes, one with a child seat. Other bikes can be rented locally - There are contact details in the house of rental places. There are also other toys stored in there which you are welcome to use (go cart, football, badminton, tennis etc). My mum and dad live in Winterswijk and will be there to welcome you, explain the house and answer any questions. Alternatively we can leave the key in a key lock and provide you with the code - and you can let yourselves in. The house is on a private park with 17 similar properties. It is extremely close to the sandy beach, great restaurant (pancake house but also provides a range of other main dishes). There is also an amazing indoor play centre (check out the Sevink Molle website) where the kids can entertain themselves for a good part of the day! There are a couple fantastic subtropical swimming pools nearby - Mareveld in Groenlo (5.6miles) and Bahia in Bochelt, Germany (14miles) . The swimming pool in Winterswijk (Jaspers) is also a very nice pool with a lazy river, kids area, slide and large 25mtr pool (2.1miles). Our kids love all of these pools and they are a major attraction for them every time we are over. We love cycling and often go for long rides from here. We have left a cycling map and brochures of plenty of other local attractions in the house. - Maximum of 6 people - No animals are allowed and we have a strict non-smoking policy inside the house - No parties or events please, unless agreed with us beforehand - It is not allowed to place a caravan or a tent on the premises - Bedding, bath & hand towels + tea towels are included – please bring your own beach towels - Check-in time is from 15:00 and check-out is from 11:00.
