We offer rural stays for the modern explorer. The Old Tackroom is lovingly filled with reclaimed items making it welcoming and cosy, a perfect retreat after a day discovering Norfolk. The accommodation is set in our old stable courtyard at church house Guestwick and has a private courtyard area of its own which is dog secure, the accommodation backs onto our house. We are hoping to have a small farm shop set up soon so guests can buy local produce during their stay and gifts to take home. The open plan living area has a sofa, Log Burner, TV (online only not arial), small table and chairs, breakfast bar, kitchen area with oven, hob, sink, fridge, wine fridge, toastie maker, kettle and toaster. All linen and towels will be provided. Secure outdoor courtyard for dogs. Secure storage for bikes/roof racks/beach equipment/ paddle/surf boards, please ask if you require this. The BBQ and Bikes are stored away please ask if you would like to use them and we will pop them in your courtyard. The Old Tack Room has one en suite bedroom. Guests have their own private courtyard which is dog friendly, we also offer dog sitting services should you wish to head out to Norwich shopping for the day. We have a field at the end of the lane where we hold wild camping throughout summer months should you have family, friends or older children that want to camp. Guests will have their own fire pit in the courtyard. We have neighbours in the village with accommodation should you have a group booking just send me a message and we can arrange that for you. We have two retro style bikes for your use perfect for cycling to Heydon or Reepham. The old tack room is next to our house and you are welcome to knock on our front door anytime you need something, we have children so preferably before 9pm if possible. We are happy to give recommendations should you need any. We are happy for you to have our number in case of emergencies. (Local information is on our guidebook and our (Hidden by Airbnb) page @church_house_guestwick_norfolk). We are very lucky with our location which is perfect for walking, cycling (cycle route 1) we seem very rural and are spoilt with surrounding fields, farms and the church. However a 10 minute drive in either direction will bring you onto a trunk road from Norwich to the coast and you are able to easily access the whole of Norfolk on day trips. Blakeney is our nearest coastal village at 25 minutes and Holkham and Wells are 45 minutes away. If you love wildlife Cley and Salthouse are a must and only 25 minutes too. Reepham is a beautiful Georgian town located 6 miles away with fantastic eateries and local deli's and shops. The Historical village of Heydon is very close and has a lovely country pub, village green, tea rooms, wood fired pizza bakery, a recently renovated area behind the pub with a beauty salon, florist, homeware and clothes shops. Holt is a busier town with more coffee shops and gift shops. Cycle all the way into Norwich on cycle route 1 or drive down into the city (30 minutes) where shows, dinning, shopping and cathedrals will keep you entertained. There are no amenities in our village (Farm shop currently underway) Walking and cycling are enjoyed in our village, otherwise vehicles are a must as public transport only passes through once a week. Taxi's are available but we recommend you book in advance (we have taxi numbers should you need one) We are in a rural village with no street lamps which is amazing for star gazing but we suggest you look up our location before you set off so you recognise the house/drive in the dark. The wet/windy weather seems to effect the wifi - we have no fibre optic cable in our rural location but we are told it is coming soon. There are no amenities in the village (there will be when our farm shop is finished). The nearest shop is 4 miles away, a co-op is 5 miles and Spar 5 miles. We live in a farming village so you are likely to come across farming machinery.
