This space was designed for my sister, an artist who lived in Brooklyn, New York. The loft has vaulted ceilings, with uncovered full length windows to allow sunlight and star gazing in turns. The space has a combined living and dining area with open American kitchen. The deck is a great place to watch the sun set. Meublé touristique 2 étoiles. The top floor apartment is designed for contemporary loft living and has a nicely appointed wet-room with shower. There is direct access to a private garden of 1 hectare (2.5 acres) and the small pond is well stocked with carp. The property is located in a quiet village, not far from shops, beaches and SNCF train station (Lison). You can be in St. Lo in 20 mins, Bayeux within 25 minutes, and Caen in 35 minutes. During your stay, you will have full access to the apartment and its surrounding gardens. Please be respectful of any guests in the first floor apartment. The common area is the vestibule on the ground floor. As an independent consultant working from home, I try to be available when needed. Please prioritise messages via the app so my co-host can also receive the notification. As a consultant, while I may be home, I may also be working. 10 km from Isigny Sur Mer, 20 km from St Lo, 15 km from the sea, trains to Paris in just 2 hours. Visit iconic sites like the Normandy American Cemetery and Pointe du Hoc, as well as Sainte-Mere-Eglise, Pegasus Bridge and Brecourt Manor. Also explore Cherbourg, Falaise and the magnificent abbey of Mont Saint-Michel and the castle of William the Conqueror. A car is your best option for getting around the countryside. There is also a taxi bus that will pick you up here for a drop off in Bayeux’s center or train station. Reservations for this service are required. Otherwise, if you anticipate having a relaxing weekend just enjoying the calm and birdsong, we can arrange to pick you up at Lison Station. ~~~~~~~~~COVID-19 UPDATE~~~~~~~~~ We kindly ask that all guests adhere to the following in order to minimize the risk of virus spread so everyone can enjoy holidays during this time. • PLEASE keep hygiene front of mind. • Please leave your shoes outside; consider bringing indoor thongs/slippers that won’t take much room in your luggage • Open windows to allow fresh air to circulate within the property during your stay. NOTE: For your own safety, do NOT open any floor level windows in the upper apartment. • Please dispose of your rubbish and keep the property clean and sanitized during your stay, in order to reduce the risk to cleaners, owners and follow on guests. Extra black trash and yellow recycling bags will be provided. Glass bottles and containers can be collected and deposited at the glass depot in the scenic overlook behind the church (parking area). • On check-out day, please strip the beds and place linens and towels into the laundry bags provided. We will try to ensure that your rental is well-stocked with plenty of cleaning and sanitizing products while staying at our home. • Antibacterial hand sanitizer in high traffic areas • Disposable gloves and disinfecting wipes • Disinfectants and cleaning supplies • Hand soap • Paper towels ~~~~~~~~~ There is a small but deep pond on the property; therefore, children and infants must be properly supervised. Here in the country, we are on septic tank system; therefore, please do not throw anything other than toilet paper into the toilet. There is a small bin near the toilet. Please use it for sanitary items, including any items marketed as "flushable"; these are not intended for septic systems. Pets welcomed but an additional 10 euro/day fee will be assessed for each animal. Please communicate in advance about any pets and by reserving, guests agree to pay the additional fee. If dogs do not play well with cats, then they must be kept on a lead. All guests must keep pets off furniture and pick up after their pets both inside and outside. All efforts to limit the transfer of pet hair (eg, travel blankets, lint rollers) should be used. Wifi is available for general legal usage but not for streaming videos or movies.
