Le Gîte d'Amélie

Our bright & spacious Gîte welcomes you. It comes with its own private entrance. It is equipped with its own independent kitchen and bathroom. It is located in the beautiful village of Marcham, Oxfordshire. 5 mins from Abingdon on Thames and 30 mins by bus to the centre of Oxford. Le Gîte d'Amélie is set up as an independent unit next to our family home. It has its own private entrance. It was completed a few months ago and has been been finished to a high standard. The living space comprises of a high quality and comfortable double sofabed, there is a dinner table with 4 chairs as well as a smart TV. The well presented kitchen has all appliances required for cooking a nice meal: an induction hob with extractor hood, an integrated fridge, a combination oven-microwave. All utensils and crockery needed are provided too. We will be on hand most of the time. We have been living in the region for over ten years and will be more than happy to share with you our knowledge of the area, and we will help you to make most of your time around Oxford! Marcham is a quiet village of Oxfordshire, but within easy reach of science parks and touristic attractions that make the area famous! There are plenty of lovely country pubs with great grub around the area or more traditional restaurants in Abingdon or Didcot, all a few minutes drive away. Millet Farm is also close to our Gîte and it is easy to pick up locally produced vegetables and also lovely cuts of meat from their shop. The easiest way to get around the area is by car. There is a good bus service to Abingdon and Oxford, with a bus stop about 100 yards from the house. This is the best way to get to the historic Oxford town centre Also, our Gite is located 10 mins drive away from Didcot Parkway station.
