The perfect family destination

Pod Górą is a beautiful 3 story house located in Strzeszyce, a charming village in southern Poland. Nestled in the hills of the Łososina River valley and encircled by alder forests, the house provides privacy without sacrificing accessibility. In the summer the house may comfortably fit 7-14 people. In the winter the capacity is about 5-6 people. Our house accommodates up to 14 people during summer season and 5-6 people during the winter. Our guests have all of the 250 square meters of the house to themselves. Among other things, you can enjoy: * a modern kitchen and bathroom * an upgraded living area with media corner (cable TV and Wii console) * an open concept main floor (kitchen, dining area, living area) * three bedrooms plus and attic loft (summer only) * one car garage plus ample additional parking * a spacious deck with patio set and BBQ * three balconies * a big garden with: herb/vegetable garden, fire pit (firewood included) and a pool (~3 m in diameter, ~ 1 m high) Once you get here, the house is at your full disposal. In addition, our guest have unlimited access to the surrounding woods, meadows and the river! In house you can expect to find: For each guest: fresh linen, duvet + 1 pillow, 1 bath towel. Bathroom: soap, shampoo + conditioner hand towel, bath mat, hair dryer. Kitchen: paper towels, dish towel, sugar, salt and pepper, some basic non perishable supplies (pasta, beans, etc,). Fridge with freezer, oven, gas stove, microwave. Standard kitchen tools and dishes. Leisure: Dining table with benches and chairs, sofa, TV with a drive full of music/movies/TV show, Wii console, books, maps. Deck: Garden furniture including large table with 4 chairs and a bench, BBQ grill and a large deck umbrella. Other: Washing machine, washing powder, iron, ironing board + drying rack, vacuum cleaner, broom + dustpan, mop. Once the keys are picked up, our guests are on their own. We are a phone call away to assist you with any inquires. However, since there is a cranberry field behind the backyard, we work in the field on daily basis. You will see us there weeding and watering the crops. Occasionally we may need access to the basement where the water supply and on/off water valve are located. The basement has a separate entrance through the garage for our guests' privacy and convenience. With just 92 houses and a population of 318, Strzeszyce is an epitome of Polish hospitality. The elliptical layout of the village is unique for the area. Although Strzeszyce date back to the 13th century, it was in the late 1700's that German colonists shaped the layout and much of the architecture that we see today. Pod Górą is a stone's throw away from activities and attractions to suit a variety of life styles: Horseback riding - 400m Trout Farm (smoked or fresh) - 700m Tennis Courts - 3km Skiing - 7km Plane Tours - 10km Canoe, paddle boat and kayak rentals at Lake Rożnowskie - 15km Hiking and Mountain Bike Paths - right outside your door! For those interested in the history and architecture, there are a number of XIII and XIV century castles in the area, as well as manors (XVII and XIX) and churches. We recommend renting a car as public transport to our location is not direct. When taking public transport and travelling from Krakow, there are 2 routes. Krakow-Limanowa (get off in Laskowa) is operated by MaxBus, a minibus company that provides frequent service and mostly utilised by students and commuters due to low prices. Krakow-Nowy Sacz (get off in Lososina Dolna) We may be able to arrange a pick up (Laskowa or Lososina Dolna) of our guests who are travelling by public transport. Pick up arrangements depend on the number of people and luggage. Please inquire about pick up arrangements when making the reservation.
