Forest’s Edge - Ashurst

This self contained guesthouse is perfect for escapes to the New Forest. Situated in the New Forest National Park 'Forest’s Edge' is great for anyone who enjoys the outdoors or a quiet peaceful place if the weather is poor. Our guesthouse is very comfortable with a sofa, king size bed, bunk bed & trundle. There is a separate kitchen & shower room with toilet & basin. The garden is huge with lots of seating. We welcome dogs and we are close to Peppa Pig (Paultons Park) and the beach. This holiday retreat is perfect for families. There is a king size bed for parents and a bunk bed and trundle bed for children (which can also take adults). All beds have high quality cotton linen and down duvets and pillows. You can relax on the corner sofa and watch the 43 inch flat screen TV (new) which has Sky Q, Freeview, Netflix and Amazon TV. The separate kitchen is kitted out with an oven, which has ceramic hot plates under glass. There is a microwave, slow cooker, toaster, kettle, fridge and utensils. We provide pots and pans etc. We also provide tea, coffee, sugar and milk (1 pint). The shower room has a shower, toilet and basin. Towels, shampoo and shower gel are provided. We have an ironing board, iron and clothes horse. If you require washing or drying of clothes we will do that for in our house and will deliver your items back to you as soon as we can. We accept dogs that are well behaved and ask that they don’t go on the furniture. Forest's Edge has it's own private entrance and is situated behind the guesthouse garden gate, which your car will be parked behind. The garden is for your use only and separate to the main house garden (our garden). The garden is very large and big enough for a game of bat and ball, football or any other sport you wish to play. If you have a dog it is fully enclosed so that they won’t wonder off. The trees and shrubs are mature and are beautiful in the Summer and Autumn. In the summer there are ponies in the field one side of us and sheep in the field the other. In the winter the ponies are put out on the New Forest to graze. We love our little part of the New Forest National Park and welcome you to stay anytime. With the current climate we have to do a deep clean of the property before the new set of guests arrive so we ask that check out is at 0930. Sanitizer gel is provided in the property. Two car spaces are available for guests and there is a side entrance where guests can come and go as they please. It’s a self check in to the Annex via a key box. If you wish to check in earlier we maybe able to facilitate that. We will be there to help if you need us but also leave you to enjoy The Annex. The Annex is situated in the New Forest National Park and has great connecting links to the M27 and M3. We are 15 minutes by car to Southampton City centre and train station. 10 minutes walk to the local shop and pub. And the nearest station (Ashurst) is 1.3 miles away. Not only that we are very close to Peppa Pig World, Beaulieu National Motor Museum, Longdown Activity Farm and The New Forest Wildlife Park. The local shop (Co-op) is a 20 minute walk away or 5 minutes in the car. The larger supermarket (Morrison’s) is a 5 minute drive in the car but further in distance than Co-op (on roads that aren’t pedestrian friendly). We recommend arriving by car. However there is a train station (Ashurst) 1.3 miles, which can be walked to in 20 minutes. There are local buses too and from the station. Buses also take you to Southampton City Centre and elsewhere in the New Forest. There is Wi-fi and the code is available online once you book. If you’re planning on a cycling holiday we have a building you can lock your bikes away in (next to The Annex). Please request the code to access the store room to lock away your bikes.
