Ballaseyre Beg offers accommodation to guests wanting to escape from it all. The property is located in the Manx countryside and is surrounded by farmland. The area is known for its amazing dark skies and views of the milky way. The interior of the property offers a quiet, calm space with an open plan layout which comprises a double bed, living space with TV/DVD, a dining area, small kitchenette and en-suite shower room. This property is ideal for a couple or a couple with a baby. Please note that we do not have a cot, so please bring your own. This accommodation is situated in the north of the island with views across open countryside to Snaefell, being 1 mile from the village of Andreas and 3 miles from Ramsey, where there is a variety of restaurants, take-aways that will deliver, and pubs including a vegan café and a gluten free bakery. Ramsey offers a variety of grocery shopping outlets and has some lovely niche shops selling Fair Trade goods etc. There is also a swimming pool and bowling alley and a number of parks. The accommodation is accessed via a flight of stone steps which would not be suitable for small children. It has its own boiler for constant hot water and central heating. Wi-Fi is available to all guests. Access is via a leafy lane to a self-contained living space within a loft conversion above the owners' garage. The accommodation is away from the main house at the end of the garden, with the owners being on-site should guests need any help or advice. Alternatively if guests desire privacy, the owners will honour your wishes. Guests' own transport is desirable as the property is not on a regular bus route, however there are local taxi firms. A parking space is available if required. The north of the island has some wild and unspoilt beaches where guests can notch up miles without meeting a soul. Days could be spent visiting local attractions such as Milntown and its beautiful gardens where events are regularly scheduled - Classic Car shows, open-air theatres, music events etc. The Jurby Motor Museum is well-worth a visit and for any animal lovers, the Curraghs Wildlife Park and its troop of escapee wallabies (if you are lucky enough to spot one). Guests can also take a ride on the Electric railway to Laxey/Douglas, or to the top of Snaefell, where (on a clear day) you can see "the six kingdoms" . Ballaseyre Beg is in the parish of Andreas, a quiet village in the north of the Island. Own transport desirable, but there are good bus links from Ramsey to other parts of the island. The cooking facilities are limited (a microwave and toaster). Bedding and towels are provided, plus beach towels on request. A welcome pack is provided on arrival.
