The lovely village of Temple Ewell has a pub called The Fox, a children and dog friendly traditional village pub with beer garden within walking distance ( phone beforehand if you want food) and many local historical attractions and footpaths/bridleways. Another pub about 17 minutes walk away is The Royal Oak in River, also dog friendly. The Lydden Bell is two miles away, and the food is amazing, well worth a taxi, or a good hike or bike ride. Dover castle is within 10 minute drive. Great for exploring Kents many historical attractions and numerous coastal towns. Kearsney Abbey and Bushy Ruff country parks are a 10 minute walk away. The parks are on either side of the Alkham Valley and are stunning with many wild birds and wildlife. FOOD There are two major supermarkets (Tescos and Lidl) in Whitfield Honeywood industrial park, a 7 minute car journey away. Also at Whitfield there is a 24 hour Petrol Station a McDonald’s, KFC and Subway. If you have no car there is a Co-op food hall in River that is a 15 minute walk away along the river to River 72 Lower Road, River, CT170RD Kearsney convenience store, is a small local shop selling basics and is a stroll away in London Road. CT163AB. There are many takeaways in Dover that deliver. GETTING ABOUT The bus stops to Dover and Canterbury are a minutes walk away. They do an unlimited all day pass for around £7.50 and the bus stops at Canterbury bus depot where you can get busses to many towns including Margate, Whitstable, Ramsgate, Herne Bay and Broadstairs. After 6pm you can get a return bus ticket to Canterbury for £3, perfect for a fun night out. Kearsney train station is a 4 minute walk away. The train stop is one stop from Dover Priory and the other direction stops at Canterbury East and Faversham amongst many others. TOWNS TO EXPLORE within an hours drive include Folkestone, Hythe, Dymchurch, Faversham, Whitstable, Herne Bay, Birchington on Sea, Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate, Sandwich, Deal, Walmer, St Margaret’s at Ciffe. Castles and Heritage places of interest nearby include Dover Castle Deal Castle Walmer Castle Western Heights Dover Nearest bus stop for Canterbury or Dover 1 minute walk. Nearest railway station Kearsney which is a 5 minute walk. HS1 direct trains from Dover Priory, 4 mins via Kearsney to St Pancras Internatinonal or 10 min drive, arrives in London in 55 mins. Tea coffee and milk will be provided free of charge. The flat has recently been refurbished, with a new huge bathroom. Towels, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are all included.
