Idyllic quaint rural retreat close to Stonehenge
The Coach House, a characterful newly renovated cottage located in the village of Thruxton, famous for its race circuit, north of Winchester. Stylishly furnished, the two-bedroom cottage is well placed to explore the Cathedral City of Salisbury, walks across Salisbury Plains, the pretty town of Stockbridge on the famous chalk streams of the River Test, the New Forest and its surrounds. With Stonehenge, Highclere (Downton Abbey), the Jane Austen Museum & the south coast, there is plenty to do! The property has a traditional cottage style feel with black beams throughout upstairs with views from the windows of the surrounding fields. There are two large light and airy bedrooms with a substantial landing area which can be utilised as extra playing space, should you have children, a stair gate can be supplied on request. Downstairs, a separate kitchen, cosy sitting room and new bath room. Wifi throughout. We are family friendly and are happy for your children to explore the acre of garden with trampoline and woods. We have chickens who are very friendly and do tend to come and say hello! We also have black lab who will greet you with a happy smile. We are in the early stages of planting and landscaping, so immediate areas will not be as established though are private with seating. There is a locked shed for bike storage. We live in a separate house on site therefore will always be available should you need any help. We are committed to ensuring you have a restful and very enjoyable stay. Should you need any information about places of interest we will be more than happy to help. If you prefer little interaction that is ok too. The Coach House has a well equipped kitchen for longer stays. The Coach House is nestled in between friendly picturesque villages adorned with idyllic greens surrounded with quaint chocolate box thatched cottages. We have a back gate to lead you immediately into the beautiful countryside and on to the miles of local walks. Our neighbouring thatched pub, The White Horse is our nearest neighbour! If you prefer a slightly longer walk you can visit The Hawk in nearby Amport, a 20 minute walk across fields. We are very closely located to the Hawk Conservancy which is well worth a visit, Thruxton race track for any petrol heads, and Stonehenge only 10 minutes drive. We are very happy to help you find the best ways to explore the local areas whether that is by foot, bike or car. We have train stations nearby in Grateley and Andover, and you can be in exciting London in under an hour. Salisbury, Basingstoke and Winchester also within closer easy reach. There are many National Trust places to visit such as The Vyne, Mottisfont and Stourhead. As we are situated near the Thruxton race track on race meets or track days you may hear the bikes or monster trucks. Even more reason for you to go over and take a look, it's exciting! The A303 is the gateway to the South West and it is a fantastic way to explore! Our location is a fantastic place for exploring the gateway to the south and south west. The A303 is a very convenient way to reach many wonderful destinations. There is a wealth of fun things to see and do. Please check if your visit coincides with national (and exciting) Thruxton race events. Thruxton holds famous events in the motor sport industry. The race times are short and measured but we do hear them!
