Charming creekside cottage in Phoenicia

Come relax in one of the prettiest places in the Catskills. Enjoy views of the Stony Clove, while sipping coffee on the wrap-around deck. The location is private and quiet, yet convenient to all the region's many attractions - hiking, skiing, antiquing, eating. When you are done exploring, enjoy a dip in one of the largest, deepest swimming holes in the area. Perfect for small families and couples. The cottage has everything you could possibly need - stocked efficiency kitchen (hot plate, microwave and toaster oven), grill, hammock, outdoor shower, Solo Stove. There is a comfy king-size bed and a twin day bed that also serves as sitting area. The space is tastefully decorated with antiques, books and games. Hours can be spent sitting on the wrap-around deck staring off into the woods and watching the creek for eagles and other wildlife, listening to the gentle sound of running water. A flight of steps takes you down to the creek where you can swim and explore all the wonders of the Stony Clove. Though the cottage is completely private, the semi-fenced in yard is shared with the neighboring main house. My family is often there on the weekends. We won't bother you unless you have a need or a question, but we may you may see us in the yard. Well-behaved dogs are allowed. Any damage will be deducted from the security deposit. Please be advised that the cottage is in the woods. As a result, the electricity and WiFi are occasionally impacted by storms in the area. Because we are on a main road, service is often restored quickly (usually within a few hours), but please consider the possibility of a power outage when booking. If we are not in the main house, we are always available by phone/email. During your stay, our caretaker is always a short drive away and can help with any immediate needs you may have. Located just under two miles north of Main Street, Phoenicia, the cottage offers seclusion and convenience - a short drive to shopping in town, Brio's, Woodstock Brewing and the Phoenicia Diner. The cottage is within walking distance of the village of Chichester, with its wonderful Catskills Yoga House. Many hiking trails are located nearby. We are happy to recommend some! You'll also be 20 minutes from skiing at Hunter or Belleayre. Windham and Plattekill are just a bit further. Woodstock is also just a 20 minute drive. Though you can walk to Chichester and Phoenicia (via a rail trail), we recommend having a car to get around. The nearest large grocery stores (one in Boiceville and one in Tannersville) are about 20 minutes away. Cell phone service is spotty in this part of the Catskills. The cottage is equipped with a phone and wifi. With the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, the cottage will be thoroughly sanitized between guests.
