The Bothy is in the heart of the picturesque, tranquil village of Harbridge. This gem of a place is on the edge of the New Forest offering miles of fantastic walking, cycling and horse riding. It is set within a pretty garden with windows overlooking garden/fields making a peaceful and romantic setting for anyone. You have a lovely ensuite bedroom with a small kitchen. There are numerous pubs in the area which offer good evening meals. Minimum stay at weekends is 2 nights unless by prior arrangement. The Bothy is very private with its own front door so you can come and go as you please. There is ample parking for your car outside your room and a safe locked barn where you can leave bicycles over night. The bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed, television, table and chairs. It also has an en-suite bathroom fitted out with a shower. Some toiletries are available if you forget your own. Towels are supplied. The bedroom has windows on both sides, so very light and airy with views across fields to the south and the garden to the north. In winter months your window looks out over the migrating swans and geese making a bird watchers ideal setting. There is a small kitchen off your room as well where a kettle and expresso machine with coffee and tea is always available. I will leave some milk and breakfast for you when you arrive. The kitchen has a fridge, toaster, microwave and induction hob. It is not meant for serious cooking but caters well for breakfast and simple suppers if you so wish although there are plenty of local pubs for your evening meal which are within a few minutes drive or bicycle from us. I will provide you with breakfast in your kitchen on your arrival so that you can enjoy your own timing in the morningt. Tea, coffee, toast, preserves, milk and cereals will be there for you to help yourself. The Bothy has its own private access so you can come and go as you please. You are welcome to use the chair and table in the garden to enjoy your glass of wine or breakfast. We look forward to meeting new guests and helping them get the best from the area. We are here to help, offer recommendations whenever needed. However, we also understand that some people value their privacy and you can be completely independent of us if you prefer. This lovely Hideaway offers many activities in close proximity. Within 5 mins of your doorstep you have mile-upon-mile of New Forest to walk, cycle or horse ride on (we have two stables that can be rented at an extra fee over the summer months). There are also numerous pubs that one can incorporate into your trek. I recommend the wonderful bicvcle tracks that run throughout the New forest. Ask Annabel for some lovely trails. Avon Tyrell is 10 minutes away and offers numerous water or land activites including segway fun, cycling or Go Ape where you can climb up in the trees or zip wire. The New Forest Water park is also situated within 5 miles and offer fun activities for an outdoor enthusiast water skiing and inflatable fun in the water - these will need booking before your stay with us. Running past our house is the Avon Valley Pathway which provides a good day out enjoying the Hampshire countryside. We are also only a 15 minute drive from Cranborne Chase with their extensive walking and cycling tracks. After your walk you could visit Cranborne Manor to enjoy their beautiful gardens or have a meal in the lovely cafe in their garden centre. Harbridge is well known for its recent sightings of rare geese and attracts many bird watchers to come to watch the flocks of swans and geese, among other birds, that arrive for the winter months. Blashford Lakes also offer good bird watching oppurtunities. Hire a bicycle in Burley to see the New Forest. 20 minutes from Bournemouth and it's beaches and nightlife. 20 minutes from the historic city of Salisbury. Hire Kayaks in Christchurch to paddle up the river or around the bay. Mudeford and Christchurch offer seaside walks. The Bothy is 5 minutes off the A31 and the main route to the West Country. 30 minutes drive to the pretty market town Lymington with it's ferry to the Isle of wight. Market day is on Saturday and worth a visit to this seaside town. We have private parking right outside your guest suite, situated up a drive well off the road. There is also a locked barn to keep your bicycles if needed. It is perfect cycling terrain with both the New Forest and Ringwood Forest offering endless tracks. Southampton Airport(25 minutes drive) and Bournemouth Airport(20 minutes drive) . 5 minutes from the A31. There are also good bus services to Ringwood, Salisbury, Fordingbridge, the airports and the beaches in Bournemouth.
