Family-friendly, pilgrim accommodation in the heart of Little Walsingham, on the High Street, 50 yards from the Abbey grounds. Please read reviews of all our rooms for a good sense! (See Cavell and Nelson, listed separately on Airbnb). The Old Bakehouse is under new ownership having been welcoming visitors to the area for many years. Dating back to the Tudor period, the house offers 2 twin/double rooms and a further double, all en-suite. Anglican Shrine and the Abbey grounds around the corner. Guests are welcome to use the drawing room, kitchenette and downstairs loo. The upstairs bedrooms are spacious and have en suite showers in the two twin rooms and an en suite bathroom in the double. The two twin rooms (Cavell and Walpole) can also be king-size doubles. The listed price is per bedroom. Drawing room with fire box. Access to the utility room by arrangement. You would be welcome to borrow our two bikes. Breakfast is self-service between 730am-930am and continental. All our listed facilities are available - please ask if there's something you would like to know about. Happy to chat to guests but also can leave you alone too. The Old Bakehouse is equidistant to the Black Lion and Bull pubs. The Black Lion on Friday Market offers wonderful fine dining and the Bull, decent pub food. The Cafe/restaurant "Victorious" (opposite the War Memorial) is a few minutes walk further away and has excellent, reasonably priced food with big portions. Booking is advised at the Black Lion and Victorious. The Anglican Shrine does a take away pizza service in the evenings. The new cafe Epiphany opened in January. The Bull also does a big fry up for 12 pounds or thereabouts. Read and Digest Cafe is 75 yards from The Old Bakehouse front door and has indoor and outdoor seating. Walsingham Abbey grounds 50 yards. Anglican shrine 100 yards. Catholic Church 100 yards. Catholic Shrine 3 mins drive. 30 mins walk down the Pilgrim route. Orthodox Church 5 mins walk. Friday Market 100 yards. Black Lion pub and the Bull pub 150 yards. Read and digest tea rooms 75 yards. Norfolk coast is 5 miles away at Wells next the sea. Park in the car park 200 yards away and walk round the village. If you would like to bring your dog that may be possible - we would need to chat first.
