Dreamcatcher House Sarchi

Dreamcatcher House is a place to relax surrounded by real rural Costa Rican folklore, coffee plantations and its people in one of the most charming places, known throughout Costa Rica for its beautiful handcrafted and souvenirs. The house might be used as base camp to easy move around, lying some 30 km northwest of Alajuela city, in Alajuela province; the town of Sarchí is perhaps most widely recognized for its colorful and decorative oxcarts that have been made here for over a century. The oxcart plays a key role in the country’s history, as they were used to transport coffee beans & other goods to nearby and faraway markets and ports. Starting in 1840ís most of the rural roads were very rough making the ox cart the sole means of transportation for families even though the trips could take weeks at times. The largest and oldest oxcart factory is also found in Sarchí. The Joaquin Chaverri Oxcart Factory was built in 1902, and is considered to be the birthplace of oxcart handicrafts in Costa Rica and it is only 1/2 mile away from Dreamcatcher House. Juan Santamaria's Airport is 40 minutes away by car or public transportation. San José is 1 hour away. If you want to live like a local and experience simple living at its best, then our place may be just what you are looking for. It is good for couples and solo adventurers and in case you need anything will be close! We want you to enjoy your visit and make the most of this beautiful country. THINGS TO DO Sarchí: Visit the park, the Church, the largest Carreta del Mundo, the souvenir shops, the Botanical Garden, the Falls of the Bajos del Toro like: Las Gemelas, Río Agrio, Tesoro Escondido, Organic Farms , Restaurants or dance halls. Naranjo Coffee tour, Restaurants. Grecia: The Church, The Farmer’s market, Los Chorros, Los Trapiches. The Poás Volcano, its restaurants, strawberries and cheeses shops. From the Juan Santamaría airport you can find us either by car, public transportation or Uber. We are located 40 minutes from the airport. Once in Sarchí you can walk, use public transportation or car to get to know the town.
