A cozy room in a stylish home

Newly decorated hotel-style luxury accommodation in beautiful Sowerby, Thirsk. Close to A1 and A19 making it an ideal stopover, or base for exploring the North York Moors. I really enjoy hosting and aim to provide a welcoming space with homely touches and help on hand should you need it. This listing is for a beautiful bedroom (double bed) with sole access to the family bathroom, which has a bath with shower over. It's a modern detached house, newly decorated throughout with love and care. I am happy to share my living room and kitchen diner with guests - feel free to chat if you want company. There is a spare child's bedroom available for free, should you want your child to sleep in their own room. It has a single bed and a travel cot. Please mention when booking if you're bringing children and where you would like them to sleep. Guests are welcome to use the lounge to watch TV and the kitchen diner to prepare meals. I am a piano and singing teacher and sometimes use the dining room as my studio. The gateway to the North York Moors National Park, Thirsk was the home of James Herriot, vet and author of 'All Creatures Great and Small'. It has an attractive market square surrounded by many independent shops , cafes and pubs. Nearby York is only 25 mins drive and offers a wealth of good shopping and historical places to visit. Ripon offers a beautiful historic cathedral, and spa town Harrogate has the glorious gardens at RHS Harlow Carr. There are many lovely National Trust properties in the area including Fountains Abbey, with its stunning water gardens, and Beningbrough Hall. I am happy to recommend local pubs, restaurants and places to visit. By road , I am a few minutes off the A168/A19, and only 9 miles off the A1M. I have 2 off road parking spaces and can offer EV charging. Thirsk railway station is on the East Coast Mainline. Trains are approximately 20. minutes to York, 40 minutes to Leeds, 1 hour 45 mins to Manchester, and 2 hours 15mins to London. I am willing to give guests lifts to/from the station.
