Rural Tranquillity double ensuite
Our large detached house stands in 5 acres of grounds surrounded by open farmland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the North Kent Downs. Within half hour drive of Eurotunnel, Canterbury, Dover, Folkestone and High Speed Rail to London takes under an hour. If you like space around you and animals, you'll like it here! We have a very friendly dog who lives with us in the house, two ponies who live in our adjoining paddock, chickens which roam our grounds and provide us with amazing eggs, and bees which of course provide us with delicious honey. We also have a very friendly cat who lives with our daughter next door. This listing is for one double room with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom. We also have another double with ensuite bathroom and two other single rooms with a shared private bathroom, so we can comfortably accommodate a family. All the bedrooms have views over open farmland. Please note that this listing is for the double room - if you want to book multiple rooms or singles please message me your requirements and I'll make you a special offer. Breakfast is included in the price and you can try our lovely free range eggs from our hens, along with cereals, homemade bread, yoghurt, fresh fruit in season/dried fruit, our own honey and homemade jams. I’m also happy to cater for any other dietary requirements as long as I’m given advance information. Please use the patio doors on the right of the house when you arrive. There is a bell to the left of the doors. Guests are welcome to use our garden - in the summer we have hammocks under the silver birch trees and a barbecue. We love meeting new people and hearing about their lives, but of course respect guests' wishes if they just want peace and quiet! We are always present at the property as this is our permanent home and are happy to help in any way we can. Wootton is a very small village, but with an active, sociable community. There are under 200 people who live here, but we have an ancient church and a beautiful wooden village hall which is used for village events and occasionally for weddings. Our nearest pub is the famous Jackdaw at Denton which is about a mile away down the hill. Our lovely single track lanes are surrounded by open farmland and are often used by cyclists, horseriders and walkers. If all the peace and quiet get too much however, we are within easy reach of the Kent coast as well as the historic city of Canterbury, and the high speed rail link from Folkestone gets you to London in under an hour. There is no public transport to or from the village of Wootton. The nearest bus route is Folkestone to Canterbury, a mile away in Denton. Nearest train station is Shepherdswell. We have plenty of free parking on our grounds, and a car or bikes would be necessary in order to explore the locality. We love living here and feel it's too good not to share!
