Simpers Drift is a perfect chill out getaway to explore the countryside, lovely coastal walks ,heaths , forests,Suffolk villages, towns and country estates, in the open air . Located, just off the A12 in Suffolk, in the quiet village of Great Glemham, Simpers Drift is a lovingly converted detached dairy, in the grounds of the owner’s home, with stunning high ceilings, original features throughout and fabulous modern touches. The cosy wood burner is ideal for those cooler evenings and a mature garden and sprawling grounds to explore outside. Surrounding the property, you will find an excellent network of walks and cycle routes meandering through the pretty Suffolk villages, both country and coastal. It is a short drive from wedding venues Easton grange 12 mins SECKFORD Hall 15 mins Glemham Hall 5 mins Bruisyard Hall 7 mins Butley priory 20 mins Ufford park hotel 11 minutes The National Trust owned Sutton Hoo is only a 15-minute drive away, and the nearby Dunwich Heath is within 25 minutes. A 35-minute drive is the Port of Felixstowe and its beaches with the passenger foot and bike Ferry leaving from Landguard Fort to Historic Harwich and Shotley, this is provided by award winning Harwich Harbour Ferry Services who also run excellent Seal watching trips all year round. The nearby Woodland Trust area Pound Farm is a wonderful mix of woodland, orchard, grassy race, wildflower meadow and ponds of 250 acres which is nearly all fenced, ideal for those with four-legged guests! This part of Suffolk boasts many country estates for visiting including, Helmingham Hall, Crows Hall and Hevingham Hall. All with gardens, history and culture to explore. Framlingham is well worth a visit, its castle a particular highlight along with excellent restaurant, pubs and shops. Simpers Drift is near Snape Maltings which is famous for being Benjamin Britten’s concert hall and only 6 miles from the seaside town of Aldeburgh. Also nearby and well worth a visit is the RSPB Nature Reserve at Minsmere and approximately 35 minutes away is the coastal town of Southwold and the village of Walberswick. Beach 9 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile. We are living in our own farmhouse on site but believe in giving people privacy but are on hand to help with anything. We know the area very well and can give ideas for days out if needed Simpers Drift is in the village of Great Glemham which is quiet and idyllic only 2 miles from the A12 . The village pub provides good food and a good welcome to dogs and humans ! We are near Snape Maltings which is famous for being Benjamin Britten’s concert hall and only 6 miles from the seaside town of Aldeburgh. (open April to October but can be opened at other times for special group visits) London rail links are just 10 mins away Harwich ferries to Holland are an hour by car Stansted airport is an 1 hour and 20 mins car drive Cambridge is 1 hour and 30 mins by car Bury st Edmunds 1 hour by car Ipswich 35 mins by car Colchester 45 mins by car Norwich is 1 Hour 15 mins Many of the above have rail links From February 2021 charging point available for electric cars . Charges apply . Bicycles for hire . Hybrid bikes suitable for off road and on road also helmets are available for a small charge .
