THE VILLAGE IS SITUATED IN PRIVATE GROUNDS, STREET VIEW HAS NO ACCESS. The Fisherman's Cot is a truly unique and special holiday experience, situated in exclusive woodland known as The Irish Village. It offers peace and tranquility yet is minutes from the beach and town center. Right on the Saxon Shore Way, it is ideal for walking, bird watching, cycling, golf, sailing, windsurfing, sea angling, beach fishing, freshwater fishing or simply chilling in wonderful peaceful surroundings. It is dog-friendly and offers cycle and inflatable canoe hire from local suppliers, sailing trips on a traditional sailing vessel booked through the sailing Barge Greeta and provides free of charge shrimp nets, crab lines and even buckets and spades for the children. Picnic hampers are available from basic to Gourmet with Oysters from local suppliers, Lobster and Champaign, to be enjoyed on the secluded West Beach to watch the wonderful Turner sunsets over the Island or just on the sun deck of the Cot. Fresh eggs are available from the free-range hens and honey form the bees kept in the garden when available or can be arranged from other local Beekeepers on request. The Fisherman's Cot is studio style accommodation in the grounds of Connemara House. The wooden cabin style building sleeps up to four in one bedroom, is beautifully decorated in traditional seaside themes and has a wood burning stove which adds atmosphere during winter breaks. En suite shower, toilet and a separate kitchen area with microwave & steamer. There is a TV, Radio, Fridge and WIFI. There are board games should the weather be inclement, everything for a family to enjoy a perfect holiday. The exclusive grounds provides private parking, there is Barbeque on the deck to cook the freshest seafood which can be purchased from the Harbour. Should you want to bring a tent there is a paddock for camping. There will be fresh fruit, flowers. You will be welcomed by Frank who will show you the ropes and offer help and advice about local activities and services. He will be able to help book restaurants, sailing trips or shows in London. There are books and guides available in the cabin. Change over Day The cot is usually available from 4 pm on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 10 am on the morning of departure - sometimes these restrictions can be relaxed on request. We introduce the guests to the Cot, Show short cuts to beach, harbour and town and then as little or as much as they require. Peaceful & secluded but within a short distance to town, beach and harbour. Regular fast trains to and from London, easy access to France, Canterbury, Tate Gallery, Margate. Rural as well as seaside walks, excellent restaurants, great pubs and beer, Vineyards, good small music venues and art shows. It is also a center for traditional sailing vessels: Oyster Smacks, Bawleys, Thames Sailing Barges and wooden boat building yards. Fresh fish from the harbour and local shops, of course, the best Oysters! Has the feeling of a country retreat but with all the amenities of a town. Public transport is good via trains and buses. Local taxi are good and reasonably priced Whitstable is everything to everyone, peacful seaside from West Beach onwards or fun town in the summer
