The Studio

The Studio is a light, airy modern single story self contained dwelling attached to our cart lodge that is within the garden of our thatched cottage. The area is semi rural and quiet but within easy walking distance (about 5 minutes) of Clare town. We also provide basics like towels, tea/coffee/milk at the beginning for each stay. There is room on the drive for guests to park 1 small to medium car free of charge during their stay. The garden is fairly large but not exclusive to guests only, so please be aware that the owners are keen gardeners and will be working in the garden at times during the day. We will be available, unless stated at the time of booking, to see and help all our guests with any help needed during their stay. We are a social family but we also understand that guests like their privacy during their stay. Please be aware that we have a friendly cockapoo dog that will be at times around the garden. Our cottage is on the outskirts (and originally part of) Clare Priory, a working St. Augustine Roman Catholic establishment that was founded in 1248. There is a church and a retreat within The Priory. The area is steeped in history and known for beautiful walks. Clare itself is only a five minute walk away, together with Clare Country Park similarly situated. There are plenty of good walking routes in Clare. Clare itself has several pubs which serve local food and good ales. There is a small derelict castle in Clare Country Park build about 1317. Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds are about 45 minutes away by car. London is about 1hr 30 minutes by car, where you can park and enter central London by underground for days out. London Stansted Airport is about an hours drive away and local taxis can be used to get to and from there. We have recently been able to upgrade our broadband, so our connection is now super fast!
