This is a lovely 2 bedroom cottage that has just been fully renovated. It can sleep upto 6 people as it has 2 bedrooms and a double sofa bed in the living room. There is fast wi-fi and smart TV. A range cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster & washing machine in the kitchen. There is also a travel cot, high chair & safety gate if needed. Gainford village is an ideal location to start a hike or bike ride from and the river Tees is a 2min walk. Bus stops are 20m from the front door to get you to town. Guests have full access to the property and garden. It has a village green and the church of St Mary's which stands on the site of an Anglo-Saxon monastery built in the 9th century. There are some beautiful river walks that form part of the Teesdale Way and the victorian Spa that was beleaved to have healing properties. Raby Castle with its beautiful grounds and large dear herd is located just 10 minutes drive. There are some lovely places to eat close by including the Michelin Starred Raby Hunt at Summer Houses (4 miles away), the Fox Hole in Piercebridge (3 miles away) and the Black Horse in Ingleton (2 miles away). There are two bus stops 20m from the house were you can catch a bus to either :- 1. The historic town of Barnard Castle where you can walk around the medieval battlements of the castle, visit the grand Bowes Museum or frequent the many small independent shops and pubs in this picturesque setting. 2. Darlington that has a busy town centre full of well known shops, eateries and cinemas. There is a lock box at the front of the property for self check in. You will be emailed the code the day before you arrive.
