Stable Cottage is a bright and airy, self-contained flat, suitable for wheelchair users set within a stunning Walled Garden. We offer seclusion, peace and comfort and a warm welcome for cyclists, walkers and holiday makers who are keen to enjoy the attractions of Winchester and the Test Valley. It is well located for wedding guests at nearby Lainston House Hotel, and visitors to IBM Hursley and NTL Arqiva in Crawley. Stunning views over the garden and Hamsphire countryside. Step free access leads you through a rose covered Arbour to the front door. Stable Cottage has spacious living space furnished to an extremely high standard and is spotlessly clean providing a lovely relaxing and comfortable place to spend time. You enter the dining room with a stable kitchen to one side and open plan TV/living room the other, which leads into the main bedroom. Through the bedroom is the utility area/hallway and beyond that a second bedroom with twin Heal beds. The bedrooms share a bathroom with a bath, loo, sink and easy access shower. Guests are welcome to stroll around the walled garden We live in the main house so we will be on hand to help you with any queries during your stay. We have a designated key box to enable you to check in at your leisure, the code will be provided before you arrive. We have put together a Cafe, Restaurant and Pub guide, available in Stable Cottage or in advance by email. We do recommend that you book restaurants in advance to avoid disappointment. Chris' Stable Cottage lies within the gardens of The Deane House, Sparsholt, which are open for the National Garden Scheme by appointment. Located on the outskirts of the rural village of Sparsholt, Winchester, it is a fantastic base to explore Winchester, Hampshire and the South of England. At the other end of the village is Sparsholt Agriculture College, home to Radio 4's Gardeners' Question Time 'Potting Shed'. We can recommend good pubs within a 3 mile radius or you can venture into Winchester for The River Cottage Canteen, The Ivy, Brasserie Blanc, Cote, Rick Stein's, Hotel du Vin and many excellent independent cafes and restaurants. For the sporty traveller, there are numerous park runs and rambles nearby for your morning exercise; the Ageas Bowl for Hampshire and International cricket fixtures is about a half hour drive away as is St Mary’s Stadium for Southampton FC. The Winchester Golf Academy and driving range is 2 miles away. Winchester is a vibrant city (3.5 miles) with the renowned Cathedral, Winchester College, Theatre Royal, Winchester University, River Itchen and Water Meadows, which inspired Keats' Ode to Autumn.
