Tasteful setting with vintage 1920s walnut furniture. 400 sq feet. The apartment has a desk and 32” TV with Roku and WiFi. Guest controlled temperature with window A/C and vintage direct vent heater, as well as ceiling fans. Guests enjoy complete privacy with their own separate and secure entrance, bathroom, bedroom, living space and kitchen. Feel free to have a coffee or drink on the front porch! Host stays off premises, but only 5 minutes away to help out with anything. Available by phone or text any time! About a 10 minute walk, or 3 minutes by car or bike to the river and the restaurants, nightlife and shopping of downtown Bay City, MI and about a mile north of McClaren hospital. Drive up and park right in front of the house (street parking only). Complementary bicycles are available on loan from the host, just ask to arrange that before check-in! Pets are welcome with a $20 per visit pet fee (2 pet maximum). The fee must be remitted within 48 hrs of booking, or immediately after booking if stay is less than 48 hrs away. Pet fee can be remitted through resolution center “send money” function. Pet Fee Rationale: There’s additional time, work in cleanup and excess risk incurred from potential shedding, food dish overspill, dirty paws on carpets/furniture, chewed up bits of toys, allergy issues for next guests, pet fluids and stains in all forms, potential negative reviews incurred if there is an allergy issue, fleas brought in to the house, soiled carpet, stains from a sick animal on the bed, chewed furniture, pet odors, etc. As well behaved a pet may be, there are certain circumstances beyond the guest’s control. Ultimately that risk is borne by the host. Even if nothing negative did occur, it did in fact pose a risk to the listing’s rating which warrants fair compensation (akin to paying for insurance as a good driver when no accident has occurred). We love animals and yours are welcome, but we wanted you to know there is a good reason for the fee! Cancellation Policy Rationale: We do wish to extend flexibility to guests as maximally possible, but we can’t grant waivers to the policy beyond Air BnB emergency circumstances after the cut off periods because your reservation prevents other potentially interested guests from booking the same date(s). In addition to losing your business through the cancellation, your reservation would have caused the loss of theirs. We highly recommend that you don’t book unless certain of the dates of stay and to instead just wait and make a last minute booking from the air bnb units that are available if you are able to stay. Hopefully that makes sense, but if not, you’re always welcome for clarification before booking. Original features: This house is old, and we thought the original features added character: ie., the split pane windows, though aged, are functional (bolstered by modern storm windows with screens). The walls are lathe and plaster, and has been repaired many times over the years, and has fresh paint. The sinks and bathroom mirror are all original. They bear a few marks, scratches and knicks here and there (which perhaps might be mistaken for specks of dirt!) but are kept clean and shined as maximally possible after every booking.
