Our house sits in a beautiful country village, 5 minute walk to the South shore of Rutland Water and the many leisure activities in and around the area. Close to Historic Stamford and Oakham towns boasting many local independent shops. The village has a small shop selling local produce and a great pub. Rutland Water is an area of outstanding beauty and hosts many International events such as The Bird Fair in August. Sailing, walking, cycling, fishing and bird watching are all on our doorstep. New for (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) We have a lovely Summer house with fantastic views over the meadow and garden, an ideal place to rest and relax in. Off street parking for 2 Cars or a small boat and 1 car, other free parking outside the property. The property has 2 bedrooms, comprising of a Principle bedroom with a King sized luxury bed with ensuite, the second bedroom has twin beds. A travel cot and high chair is available if required. The luxury family bathroom is on the first floor with a large walk in shower featuring a deluge head. The luxury en-suite in the Principal bedroom has a walk in shower. There is a guest toilet on the ground floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with quality white goods, there is a large fridge freezer with a cold water dispenser, the oven is electric with an induction hob. Guests can do laundry and drying in the utility room, tablets provided, there is a dishwasher and microwave in the kitchen. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine with coffee capsules. A large table with 4 chairs sits in the dining area. The comfortable contemporary lounge has 2 double sofas and a chaise longue, there is also an upholstered large footstool. A feature electric fireplace with flame effect logs is delightful for cosy nights. The house has a Samsung large screen wall mounted 4K television with surround sound. Sky and Netflix are loaded with the latest movies and shows. From the lounge you can access the delightful garden through the double French doors. Outside there is a large landscaped garden for you to enjoy with a water fountain bird bath, and several feeders, we are blessed with an abundance of wildlife especially birds to the garden and you’ll regularly see the magnificent Red Kites flying above. A table, sun umbrella and 4 chairs are located on the terrace to enjoy al fresco dining admiring the beautiful open views over the meadows and beyond with views of the lake through the trees. There is also a small BBQ for guests use. We have introduced a lovely Summer House overlooking the gardens and meadows for (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) this is available for guests to enjoy. We would like to encourage you to feed the birds with a supply of birdseed kept in the kitchen. Dear Guest’s in response to concerns over potential Covid-19 infection a strict cleaning routine will be implemented at our property. Our housekeeper will be instructed to thoroughly disinfect between stays, all surfaces including remote controls, door handles, light switches etc. will be treated. All bedding, towels and tea towels will be washed on a 60 degree cycle to sterilise them. I recommend you to bring your own hand sanitizer and tissues and dispose of them in the bins, you’ll be aware of Government advice to wash your hands frequently in hot water for at least 20 seconds. We highly recommend that you take out holiday travel insurance in case unforeseen circumstances force you to cancel your stay. The village of Edith Weston sits 6 miles equidistant from the nearest large Market towns of Stamford and Oakham. Edith Weston village is named after Edith of Wessex (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) the Queen of Edward the Confessor. Rutland Water is on our doorstep for you to explore, Edith Weston Sailing Club is a 5 minute walk from the house and Rutland Water Golf Club with its amazing views from the greens is close by. Rutland Water is renowned for its beauty and wealth of activities, you can cycle and explore the stunning scenery from the trails around the lake, bike hire is available from the nearby Giant store. The well stocked lake is filled with several different species of fish, fishing trips and boats are available for hire at the fishing lodge. Rutland Water is one of the Worlds top places to bird watch with the famous Rutland Ospreys in residence. A Bird Fair is held each summer in Rutland Water, with visitors coming from many countries around the world to bird watch. Walking is another big pastime with plenty of trails around the 26 mile lake. There is also a man made sand beach with lifeguards in the summer months ideal for family gatherings and picnics, BBQ’s are allowed, a water adventure park is also popular in the summer. Normanton Church, a stunning venue for civil weddings sits nestled on Rutland Water and is the perfect spot for your wedding photos. Rutland Water also hosts several sporting events like sailing, running, cycling and swimming completions. Famous Elizabethan Burghley House and it’s lovely Garden of Surprises are close by in Stamford, voted by The Telegraph as one of the top 10 places to live in the UK. Burghley also hosts the famous Land Rover horse trials each September plus many concerts and events during the year. Stamford is a delightful medieval market town renowned for its stone buildings and churches, Brownes Hospital and Almshouses date from C (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and was designated as a World Heritage site in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) The local Tourist Information building has a tea shop a cinema and art gallery, they also organise popular guided walks around the town. Stamford has beautiful open meadows with the river Welland running through it, ideal for a picnic and feeding the ducks, Stamford has a delightful pedestrian shopping precinct with lots of great independent shops, cafes, restaurants and antique shops. Great public transport links, the local bus route in the village will take you to Stamford and Oakham towns both having railway stations. Rutland Water is 26 miles in circumference the majority enjoying scenic off road cycle tracks with lovely pubs to stop for refreshments. There is ample off street parking at the house. Strictly non smoking, a non compliance cleaning charge will be made to ensure the comfort of the next guests staying. Strictly no pets at the house. We ensure the house is as pristine as we can make it and we would appreciate it if you could leave the house as you find it. We have new carpets on the first floor and bedrooms so we kindly request that outdoor shoes are removed before going upstairs thank you. Please note we do not allow guests to eat meals in the lounge, we have a fully equipped kitchen diner for your convenience, thank you for your understanding.
