Maison Quesnel - comfortable town house for B&B.

With our family suite for four people, we can offer a perfect spot for a stop-over, or a longer stay in our area of Normandy. Use us as a base to explore the local sites, days at the beach or just enjoy the secluded garden or comfortable salon. We live on site and are happy to advise on local places of interest and restaurants to suit all tastes! Breakfast is included in our reasonable prices. Maison Quesnel is a house full of character, we hope that we have preserved the elegance and style of this French town house but added touches of 'le goût anglais' inside and created an English style garden outside. Our bedrooms are all situated on the first floor and away from us, your hosts. On the ground floor is the dining-room for your breakfast, diners you have booked in advance or you are welcome to bring in your own picnic or snacks - there is a microwave for your convenience. The salon is available for you to relax and enjoy afternoon tea and a book. Off the salon is the access to the walled garden for our guests furnished with a garden table and chairs. John and I live on site; of course we appreciate that not everyone wishes to be talked at or to and we take our lead from you. We have our own reception rooms and private quarters and are happy to leave the walled garden for the use of our guests. We live in a very attractive part of the Normandy bocage countryside. Our town, Hambye, has an excellent bakery, a small supermarket, bar and pharmacy, all within walking distance. Three kilometres away is the Abbaye d'Hambye, a national monument; a little further are other abbeys, beaches, D-Day monuments and museums for all tastes. Then there are miles of walking trails and cycling tracks, restaurants and local markets. Hambye is a small rural town with the nearest train station in Villedieu-les-Poelles (around 25 kilometres). It is advisable to have a car, or bicycle, and with public parking to the front of the house or private parking at the rear your vehicle will be quite safe.
